An Imminent Threat to the IDF Eliminated

January 29, 2024. Her name was Hind Rajab, she was six years old. I’d be willing to wager that there are not many people alive who personally know who she was. Even less who care. Lots of us have heard her story, though. All that’s left now is a memory of a little six-year-old girl who met a horrifying end at the hands of brutal monsters.

Her mom says she wanted to grow up and become a doctor. Surely she had other dreams, as any child her age would have. I have four daughters of my own, and was able to raise them, I have seen how little girls think, how they dream, how they love. God created them as little, vulnerable creatures who need care, security; someone to help them realize their hopes. Someone to rock them to sleep and tell them bedtime stories. Someone to grab their teddy bear and run to when the scary things under their beds wake them up. They are completely innocent, and those who try to justify what happened to this child on the grounds that she somehow deserved it – well, there’s a special place in hell for them. Jesus said it would be better for those who harm little ones if they had a millstone tied around their neck and were thrown into a lake. She is in the arms of the Lord now, and He will not forget what the demons did to her. A special place in hell indeed.

She was in a car with her uncle and his wife and their four kids and they were trying to get somewhere they would be safe, but dark-hearted savage beasts targeted their automobile, killing everyone in the car except her and her 15-year-old cousin. The cousin was able to call for help on the phone but was killed while pleading for help. Hind took the phone and continued to frantically beg for help, but that piteous phone call from a terrified child barely out of infancy proved to be her ending. When the scene was examined, they found her lifeless little body shredded with bullet wounds.

Why was this innocent little child such a threat to the most moral army in the world? Was she holding a teddy bear that looked like an AK-47? Why on earth would these cowardly soldiers open up on a tiny child with such wanton ferocity? These aren’t people with any semblance of human compassion. I can’t help but recall the Nazi SS leader who once said that if you couldn’t put a gun to the head of a little child and pull the trigger, there was no place in the SS for you. The IDF guys who did this proved they had the moral fortitude to have qualified for the SS.

A Palestinian Red Cross ambulance was called to rescue her. The EMTs got permission from the IDF, and a route was established by the IDF and sent to the ambulance, but while en route, the most moral army in the world intentionally fired on the ambulance, killing Hind’s would-be rescuers. Then they continued firing on the vehicle where the tiny, terrified child was trapped with six dead relatives until they killed her.

“Come take me. Will you come and take me? I’m so scared, please come!” were Hind’s last words.

Our illustrious House speaker, Mike Johnson, was on the news yesterday berating our college kids for pro Palestine protests. As far as I’m concerned, those protests are the ONLY things happening in America that are working in the direction of justice. Mike Johnson is just another venomous AIPAC shill, and you can discern that from every misleading sentence that comes out of his pie hole. And he thinks his rational-sounding words are getting past the American public as though they might actually believe what he is saying. Everyone knows better. Those people over there are being slaughtered en masse, and he and everyone else know it. It’s as though Greenblatt and Korn gave him a speech with orders to follow the script to the letter, and it’s painfully obvious to everyone he’s doing just that. There’s a special place in hell for the Mike Johnsons and Greg Abbots who defend these monsters. That goes for the Tom Cottons, Judas Hagees, and all else who defend the barbarity that is taking place in Palestine, not to mention the cops who are attacking the kids protesting this evil.

There are many atrocities of unspeakable malevolence taking place in Gaza right now, but the debacle that was Hind’s murder ranks among the very worst. It looks like the plan is to smother this story with so many others that it will be buried and forgotten. We cannot allow this to happen. I’m 70 years old and all my life I was spoon-fed stories about how evil the Nazis were and heard lots of stories of their infamous brutality, but the death of Hind Rajab is surely as atrocious as anything the Nazis ever did. When this “war” is over, we must never allow Hind’s murder to be forgotten. Those who are guilty of it must be pursued like Wiesenthal hunted the Nazis until justice finds them. Starting at the top. Never again means never again!

But that’s just the justice they need to face in this life. The punishment God has in store for the Synagogue of Satan will be the ultimate and eternal hell. I realize I’m supposed to pray for them and once in a while I do try, but it’s hard to do when they insist on this level of merciless barbarism and lies. It’s almost like trying to pray for Satan or Dick Cheney or something, but then God knows our hearts.

Rest in eternal peace in the loving arms of the Lord, little Hind. We will hold your memory in our hearts.

And There Were Lights in the Sky

prologue: This is another attempt to stimulate interest in critical world events by presenting the reader with some bits of speculation on what could happen based on current events – thoughts that cannot be found in the mainstream media. Posts from this site are read in countries all over the world. folkpotpourri.com website is convinced that public interest is of crucial importance if we are to stop this runaway train that is Western government. By presenting narratives of what might be left of our world post-apocalypse, perhaps enough interest can be garnered to help stimulate ideas on how to change our direction, and determination to do it. -MK

We finally made it here, and it’s been quite the ride. Looking over a bleak landscape that one could only imagine in the darkest and most horrifying of nightmares, I can but think this is the terminal station to where the train of humankind was bound – for thousands of years. For most of those years, we didn’t have the means to accomplish this, but malevolent entities posing as scientists of the mid twentieth century finally developed technologies that could do the job. They joined forces with other malevolent actors posing as politicians so as to become thus staffed for the task. There’s no denying it – we all knew what they were up to, but there weren’t enough opposition voices, and the ones that did speak weren’t loud enough to overcome that terrifying bloodlust that many humans carry inside them nor were they sufficiently powerful so as to overcome society’s appalling lack of courage.

Some days ago, the unthinkable happened. Russian submarines had for weeks been shadowing every nuclear-armed sub of the US, Britian, Israel and France, just waiting for the order to come down. If the Russian and Chinese submarines could maneuver in such a way as to get the drop on the allied subs and report their advantageous positions, the Russian and Chinese leaders had finally had enough of western criminal behavior to begin the process – they were determined to sink them all. They had S-500 missiles, laser weapons, all sorts of Electronics Warfare assets ready to fire on satellites, military installations, and almost every western aircraft, both in the sky and on the hundreds of bases around the world. And there were lights in the sky – everywhere.

Russia had sleeper cells comprised of Chinese, Central and South American, and Mideast commandoes stationed at strategic locations throughout the US, many of them nearby to nuclear missile silos. Their job would be to destroy as many of the silos and their contents as fast as they could once the order was given, so few of the aging minutemen were ever launched, or didn’t get sufficiently airborne to evade the weapons that had been trained on them for years. But it was the submarines that had to be adequately targeted before anything else could happen. In addition, there were hundreds of enemy commandoes at strategic locations near US air bases, both in the US and in foreign nations, ready to fire SAMs at B-52s and B-1 and B-2 bombers before they could get airborne, or very shortly thereafter. Stealth fighters were attractive targets everywhere, mostly on the ground. Many, many adversaries got into the US during the open border times and were thus stationed and prepared to disable US assets.

Places like Guam, Diego Garcia, and the Aleutians were all under the watchful eyes of Russian and Chinese submarines, again, waiting for the order. There would be no significant aircraft launches from these bases. Other targets of opportunity, especially for sleeper cells, were factories where munitions and weapons were produced, although when the big missiles started flying, they became inconsequential as Russian Sarmats would take care of them. Each and every one of them.

For many years, the Russians had patiently watched as the US military slowly self-destructed. They learned much about NATO’s capabilities (or lack thereof) from the murderous wars in Ukraine, the middle east, Afghanistan, Serbia and far too many others. While Langley and London frantically counted tanks and artillery pieces, the Russian military played cat-and-mouse with them, fully aware that tanks and destroyers would be of limited use when the real war started.

While the Russians, Iranians, Chinese, and North Koreans concentrated on weapons that worked, US defense contractors and their military and congressional co-conspirators concentrated on weapons systems that made them a lot of money – whether they worked or not was of little consideration. That’s how we ended up with flying bathtubs for trillions of dollars. The US got caught up in wokeism, with the most capable of West Pointers disgustedly leaving the service to the likes of the Rachel Levines and useless charlatans like Mike Pompeo, David Petraeus and others who were way more interested in their bank accounts and displaying subservience to Zionists than to military strategy. Putin knew this, Xi knew this. Their patience, though sometimes frustrating, paid off in spades. You could see the benefit of their patience from the developments in the Ukraine, but the military imposters in leadership positions in the west never caught on.

While the nuclear weapons got the most attention, both sides pulled out secret weapons arsenals that the crew of the starship Enterprise would have envied. Destroyers, cruisers, and aircraft carriers coasted to a stop in the oceans, completely disabled by electronic warfare weapons. Some of them were sunk by hypersonic missiles; their radars couldn’t even see them coming. With Russian and Iranian EW weapons successfully engaged, all shipboard systems went dead, propulsion systems shut down, the electricity went off and soon enough they only had a contingent of marines on board with rifles and handguns, not a serious threat to anyone, especially in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. A dead aircraft carrier with no defensive capability, languishing in the middle of the ocean is completely useless, unless you’re a Russian submarine captain looking for some shiny chest decorations.

All of the aforementioned events happened in the first minutes of the conflict. The vaunted US nuclear triad was almost completely disabled, dozens of submarines in pieces, headed for Davy Jones’ locker. Anti-aircraft systems had been developed and honed to the degree that no western bombers were able to get to positions to threaten. North Korea and China had developed EMP weapons that completely shut down electrical grids throughout Europe and North America. The Russians, Chinese, Iranians, and North Koreans had spent years developing shielding and Faraday Caging for their weapons, so the EMP didn’t effect their systems, while Admiral Levine was spending his days chatting with the girls at the nail salon.

The US found out too late, that many of their so-called allies weren’t really their friends after all. Nations like Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Romania, and Egypt actually assisted the opposition when push came to shove, many others following suit. Several countries, including Israel had been suspected of sharing intelligence all along with America’s adversaries. Some of them were in a position to help by actions such as shooting down American missiles and aircraft. Once the action had started and everyone knew this was it, several of the nationals in countries where the US had military installations took part by rapidly destroying American assets. Such was their arrogance and hubris, the incompetent people who had been promoted to the upper echelons of American intelligence had sufficiently degraded the organizations that they had no idea of the low regard these “allies” held for Americans. So much for “soft power”.

During the last years prior to destruction, the US congress took up all of their legislative time debating on things which only served to demonstrate which political party or members thereof could prostrate themselves most maniacally before their wealthy Zionist donors. Donald Trump, the favorite of trailer park people in rural America, had demonstrated his fealty to Israel so much during his first term, that only an imbecile could have believed his MAGA insanity. These people embarrassed everyone with an IQ above room temperature. In short, no one in positions of authority paid any attention to America’s strategic posture, only Israel’s. This came back to bite them in a big way.

The land is destroyed and there are very few survivors. All the wealthy people responsible for it are either dead or deep underground in bunkers they designed and provisioned to keep them alive until it is safe to come out. Did they actually think this through? What do they expect to see when they emerge, blinking and squinting at the sunlight? If there are still any survivors, it is guaranteed with no possible doubt, that they will be immediately taken captive – if there is any organized entity, I’m quite sure they will have reinstituted the death penalty, but more than likely they will be violently assailed and killed on the spot – maybe eaten, depending on the degree of starvation the survivors have endured. Seriously, what were they thinking? Did they actually believe that after what they did, all that gold they had hoarded down there would avail them in any possible way? Angry, starving, destitute people won’t have any appreciation for gold, or anything else they can’t eat. What, indeed, were they thinking?

No more yachts, no private jets, no luxurious condo on the beach. It’s all over. Why did the maniacs keep pushing Russia and China? They could have backed off at any time and the Russians, being sensible and way more honest, would never have waged war. Jim Wright promised the Russians back in Reagan’s day when the USSR broke up that NATO wouldn’t move an inch east – oh, except for East Germany. And Poland, and Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, Türkiye, etc. Oh, and now of course Finland and Sweden. And for sure Ukraine if those pesky Russkies would have stayed home.

Most Americans were killed during the hour of destruction that was WWIII. The United States is now a vast, poisonous wasteland, almost completely devoid of life. There was a time not long ago when the people of this land could have risen up and avoided this catastrophe, and everyone knew it, but they all just sat around waiting for someone else to step up and lead a charge that would never take place. They all died the coward’s death, and maybe rightfully so. I don’t guess they were thinking of their families. The demons who made it happen will suffer the most in the long run, because many of them are still alive somewhere down there nearer to hell and they may as well get used to it – it’s where they will spend eternity.

The college kids have nothing to be ashamed about though, unlike the uniformed fascists who were attacking them on behalf of world Zionism. Those creatures got theirs though. What? Did they actually believe they were something other than useful idiots and that their benefactors would save them a nice cozy place in those plush bunkers? They are all dead now too. And their kids and families. I think they were probably the biggest fools of all. While they were gleefully whacking those kids and demonstrating all the incredibly masculine tactics their Zionist instructors taught them by wrestling women to the ground, their world was dissolving, but such was their relish for their precious authority, they joined the demonic leaders and were led to their own destruction, battling fervently against the only possible group that was trying to take us in the right direction. How foolish can people be? So, like it was in the Vietnam days, it became the police against the kids. The kids won that time, the police won this time, and now we sadly look upon the results.

epilogue: By the grace of God it hasn’t happened yet, but if we don’t make serious changes and soon, this is likely to be where we are headed. This site continues to do posts of warning – looking ahead to what might be if we don’t change directions. Food for thought sprinkled with generous helpings of opinion, but hopefully with some clarity of intent. Human existence is too important, too precious, to allow a relatively few self-interested purveyors of evil to destroy our world. I’m an old man and cannot do much except to write, exhort and pray mightily to Jesus for our deliverance. You can too.

C’est la vie.

A Horrible New Day

It’s cold out – very cold! Unfortunately, it looks like those scientists who suggested that a “nuclear winter” would follow a strategic nuclear exchange were right. Here it is late in May and another hard freeze is finishing off the few leaves and grasses that are left from nature’s feeble attempt at springtime. So much dust and smoke got kicked up into the atmosphere that the sun hasn’t been visible since the catastrophe several months ago.

My propane tank is getting low and I have to use my wood stove for heat, which is okay – I used it during normal winters and it heats up this old farmhouse – or what’s left of it – fairly well. One of the worst aspects of life now is the absence of light, even in the daytime you can barely see. All the preppers built up solar arrays for power when the grid went down, but most of them are useless with no sunlight. All those rechargeable batteries I bought aren’t much good without a way to recharge them.

We kept several cans of gas full for just in case, but by now we are getting low. The generator uses more gas than we really expected, so we only use it when we need to run the well pump. When we crank it up, we search the internet for information – any information – but there’s nothing. The satellites were the first things to go when the big war started. We turn on a few lights, glorious lights! At least for the few minutes of electricity we indulge ourselves, but just knowing the horrid darkness will return too soon takes away any real joy in the brief moments of light.

It’s no use to try and charge the phones anymore. They don’t work – nothing works. A few people show up coming down the driveway once in a while. I’ll leave it up to the reader at this point to decide what to do when a stranger comes up. You have to consider first and foremost, what kind of a threat he/she brings. At this point of existence, survival has become the pre-eminent occupation of our lives. Sometimes a hungry youngster shows up and the natural inclination for a normal human being would be to render whatever help we can offer, but there are grownups in the shadows waiting for us to drop our guard, even for a moment, and then that survival instinct kicks in.

During those brief moments of having lights on, we have to be careful to cover all the windows so no one can see our precious light. We use candles too. We have a hastily constructed outhouse. That would have been a no-brainer for any thoughtful prepper, and we should have had a good one on standby, but some things just get overlooked. Talk about a freezing experience! Nobody reads or works crosswords while on the pot.

There are some, very few, good aspects of this existence though. We don’t worry about the government spying on us anymore. It looks like we will never need to run air conditioners again. We haven’t had traffic on our local roads in a while, and there are no more chem trails. Well, I’m guessing there are no more, because we couldn’t see them if there were. Maybe when the skies finally clear, nature will once more begin to right itself and God will take control again.

Once in a while we get some information from people on CB radios, and we heard that one of the first places to get destroyed, even before the pentagon, was Langley, VA. That’s where the snake den we knew as the CIA was located. Supposedly the Russians hit the place with several hypersonic missiles and destroyed everything several hundred feet down into the ground. Washing DC itself has been a huge smoking crater for a while now. All of the big cities in the US have been obliterated as far as we know.

The Russians hit the east coast up near New York City with one of those Poseidon torpedoes they were chomping at the bit to fire off, and yes there was a huge radioactive tsunami that leveled the city and another hit in Norfolk, VA. There were others on the West Coast near San Diego and LA. We saw trails in the sky where missiles were flying from all directions – some were ours but most of the ones we saw were Russian, Chinese, and North Korean. The sounds of the explosions were like thunder, even the ones far away. We could see the upper parts of the mushroom clouds up toward St Louis and south toward Little Rock. At least the folks in those places, and many others, were quickly vaporized and never knew what hit them. Then came the darkness…

We have a little food left, but it won’t last long. The hardest part for me so far was losing my dogs. There was just no way we could work things so they could survive. Since this could happen in real life, it’s too painful for me to elaborate on, so I’ll talk about other things.

We decided early on to start using our spring out back for drinking water. Actually, we had little choice, but so far none of us have gotten sick or irradiated from it. The pools it feeds haven’t frozen over – in fact they hadn’t ever frozen even during normal winters. There are a few scraggly raccoons and deer that drink from it too, and we harvest some of them as needed. I spent several hours back prior to the war building a big smoker so we could preserve meat and it has come in handy. I suppose we could theoretically last as long as the firewood is available, and of course, assuming there is a supply of meat, but lacking any plants or vegetables, we can’t live healthily for very long.

The EMP from high-altitude weapons took out almost everything electrical. We were lucky that one of our generators survived, but with the gas supply dwindling, the generator is just prolonging our agony. Our refrigerators and freezers couldn’t avail us due to the lack of power, so we gorged ourselves on the rapidly thawing foodstuffs while it was still good. It was a shame to lose that much food – we frantically canned what we could and managed to save a good bit of it, but even though none of us ever learned much about canning things, somehow we managed to work it out.

As things stand right now, we don’t have a functioning government at any level, local, state, or federal. There is no more US government, no more FBI, IRS, DHS, etc. The people and organizations who write government checks are history. All banks are gone, obliterated. Those who enjoyed lots of money during the good times are either dead or in holes in the ground. All military organizations are finished. We don’t have any idea how many survivors there are, nor where they might be. We are at a threadbare primeval existence, and we presume the rest of the world is in the same condition. Though the African nations weren’t hit as hard as Europe, Asia, and America, the extreme cold has taken a devastating toll on those nations who were used to warm climates.

Our suspicion is that there are pockets of bedraggled survivors, probably many of them deathly sick from radiation and disease such as typhus and other maladies that accompany mass death. Will any of humanity survive this apocalypse? Who knows? If humans do survive, they’ll be in a primitive world where food is extremely scarce. There’ll undoubtedly be cannibalism, it’s happened before. They’ll eat grass, roots, or whatever else they can scavenge. They’ll live in a world where an infection from a minor injury can kill them with no medicine which we’ve come to take for granted.

Survivors will live in a world where a human life may be of no more value than a candle or a bar of soap. Education will have diminished to a point where children – if there are children – will primarily be taught what kind of wild plants are edible and maybe how to hunt with primitive weapons and traps. Animal hides and edible nuts will be the currency of civilizations – which won’t be civilized at all. There will be no law enforcement, no protection for the underprivileged, if they can’t run with the big dogs, they’ll have to stay on the porch, but there won’t be any food on the porch, people will become savage, a must for survival.

It won’t be a pretty world.

Sincerest Condolences to the Innocent

I struggle mightily to find words with which to express my heartfelt sorrow for you as pictures flood social media, pictures of lifeless children held by bereaved parents, pictures which forever testify to unspeakable evil. You’ve done nothing to deserve the atrocities leveled upon you, and I join you as you cry to God for comfort, for some semblance of hope which you cannot see from where you are. I cannot begin to explain why you must suffer thus, except that perhaps your martyred children shall eternally testify against those who brought your suffering about. The innocent children are now with the loving Father, nevermore to suffer, to fear. Hold onto this hope.

Events which have rapidly overtaken the world, the west in particular over the past months, reveal the stark and brutal hearts of all who support this blatant genocide. Prior to the onset of the murderous ravage of your home, there were those – wealthy men behind the curtain – who could direct atrocities throughout the world without being revealed for their own part in them, but no more. The world will not and cannot go back to the days of the hidden hands. These demons in human form are now operating in the open for the world to see, some even waving their idolatrous Nazi flags in the congress chamber in celebration of their major theft of great sums of money, they also line the pews of great temples of blasphemy they call churches.

Political people who publicly support this murder of innocent starving peasants and vote to enable it are the most egregious of the lot, for sure, but there are others who deserve dishonorable mention. Among them are people who own stock in the “defense” industries. These ones might just be as guilty of murder of innocents as the pilots who drop the bombs, the snipers who kill children, or the generals who gave the orders to do so. They are especially conniving with the darkest of hearts, for in their insatiable greed, they give up their souls, knowing the weapons from which they make money are being used to slaughter innocent people. As one would expect, many of them pile the cash onto the offering plates of the false prophets so as to assuage their consciences, but such gestures will not avail them at judgement. As an American Christian with a sorrowful heart, I sincerely apologize for what these people are doing to you.

Jesus said at the judgement there will be many who will try to defend their behavior with examples of acts of feigned righteousness, but He will tell them to depart from Him because He never knew them. It’s no doubt hard to reconcile your despair with this knowledge, but when the Lord refuses them entry into His kingdom, that will be the most unimaginably horrifying punishment that could ever happen to them. They will get a chance to see the indescribable beauty and joy of the kingdom, and then forevermore rue their decision to behave as they have, as they gnash their teeth in the darkness of eternal hell. Rest assured, my innocent brothers and sisters, justice will be served for you and there’s absolutely nothing, short of repentance they can do to avoid it.

My heart is heavy as I read about the slaughter that’s going on and see the tiny ones wrapped for burial with tears of distraught mothers and fathers wetting their faces. I cannot imagine your grief, it must be unbearable, and I pray for you daily. This post has spoken of some of those who are guilty of this unspeakable murder, but there are others who should be pointed out – those who turn their faces away and pretend this insidious behavior is somehow normal. They ignore what’s going on as though it has nothing to do with them. They don’t even try to empathize with you, somehow they twist their morality to rationalize it, when God is giving them a front-row seat to the most insidious event that has ever happened, at least in our lifetime, and with this opportunity to witness the atrocities, He’s extending the opportunity for them to repent, but most of them aren’t listening. They are avoiding God as studiously as they avoid facing the evil.

As it is said, God works in mysterious ways, and we are witnessing unexpected participation in the resistance to the atrocities that are happening from quarters where no one anticipated any activity. I did a post yesterday about all of the universities of the US and the students who are defying authority and coming out in big numbers to protest. https://folkpotpourri.com/wisdom-of-the-children/ They are calling out the evil that’s being perpetrated in the name of America, and they’re doing something. Imagine for a moment that of all secular places, in colleges, kids are standing up with more Christian conviction than the hypocrites in the churches, and I thank God for them.

It’s like walking up on a person you thought was dead and noticing a heartbeat – slowly coming around, young kids seeing the evil before their eyes and deciding to do something about it. I only wish there were more of our older folk who could bring themselves to do likewise – oh well, we’ll take what we can get for now, but I do believe God has a hand in this movement. Think about it for a second – we’ve got thousands of college kids making their voices heard about indisputable murder and genocide, and our politicians are dancing around their halls waving Ukranian flags in celebration of a bunch of money they’ve just stolen.

I don’t know about other seventy-year-old geezers, but I’m thoroughly ashamed, no disgusted, with our government. The AIPAC lobby is acting, for all the country to see, in support of murder of innocent people and our politicians are whole-heartedly supporting them for shekels. Billionaires in this country who are rich (as always, through theft and dishonesty) are having college presidents dismissed who do not bend the knee to them. The US is engaged in two wars at present because the Israeli lobby gave them orders to be so. Congress is passing laws to shut down free speech to try and shut down opposition to genocide. Our congressmen and women are climbing all over each other to demonstrate to their masters just how subservient they are, and America be damned. If they listened to the voices of those college kids, maybe we could begin the process of helping Gaza. Of getting food to your starving children.

Once more I wish to extend my condolences to you, the people of Palestine, who are having to endure hardships that we can only imagine. I apologize for the behavior of my government, and for my fellow citizens who seem willing to turn their heads away and accept the travesties that are going on. It just came out in the last couple of days that over half a million Ukranian soldiers have been slaughtered because of the malevolent greed of the very same people who are responsible for your plight and because of the same apathetic citizens of this country. Except for the college kids.

God bless all who see this and have the courage to call it what it is.

Wisdom of the Children

My heart is lifted with promise for the future of America and our kids are leading the way. I’ve been spending my time lately heartbroken at the affairs of the world. Specifically, there’s an outrageous horror going on over in occupied Palestine, and the people promoting and defending it are the same monsters that control our media, our banks, our government. There seems to be no way to upend this travesty of international justice.

Congress is frantically trying to pass laws to keep the truth at bay, making common words of our vocabulary illegal, designating words like river and sea to be part of hate speech. Police are out in force doing what police always do. In my youth, it was busting hippies’ heads, but today it’s dragging pro-Palestinian protesters off to jail, it doesn’t matter to them as long as they get to wear the Shire law enforcement feathers in their hats (Let the Tolkien fans understand) so they can feel important.

I’m an old man now, but I still get a charge out of watching the public step up to injustice – especially injustice that is so appallingly promoted by the groveling bunch of whores we have in our congress, which is completely owned by the powerful AIPAC lobby. They never miss an opportunity to show their true colors, and they ain’t red, white, and blue. Supposed judges are bought off all they way to the top of the judiciary, so there’s really no chance for justice to emerge from there, and the executive has been completely taken over by the bankers’ representatives and the AIPAC lobby. Just when I begin to lose hope of any human institution being able to overcome this travesty, up step the college kids! Again.

None of these kids today remember our battle during the Vietnam days when a different travesty was happening, but they are taking the same tact we did. In our day it was with flowers, love, music, and Jesus, and after years of struggle and with the chagrin of the establishment, we won our battle. The US military left Saigon in 1975. But way too many Vietnamese peasants died while we were fighting. Us kids won the day back then, and it looks like the only ones truly fighting this time are the young folks again. There are a few blessed supporters like Aaron Mate, Judge Napolitano, Max Blumenthal and others. And we must never forget the conviction and courage of Aaron Bushnell. God bless y’all.

Y’all need to start writing some for-real protest songs. Don’t worry about stepping on toes either. You have the marches going, and I’m going to drag my old decrepit butt out there and join y’all for the thrill of watching the man squirm. This genocide has to stop – human beings are better than this. Maybe it’s fitting for the youngsters to lead the way, maybe your parents can be ashamed of themselves like ours were for letting themselves be propagandized and brainwashed while the younger folks could see through the crap and take action.

I’ve seen where the kids at Columbia University are being dragged off to jail and MIT seems to be following suit. The system got the presidents of Pennsylvania and Harvard kicked out, but the students made their voices heard. I’ve come a long way in a very short while, considering the contempt I’ve had for young people because of my misperception that y’all weren’t paying enough attention, but I guess in reality, it’s mostly older folks who have dropped the ball. You guys are stepping up in a big way and I’m big time proud of y’all. I’m not on top of all of it, but I’d wager that a lot more colleges are in this fight too. I sincerely hope so, and I’d love to get comments from all the ones who are in and their progress. Remember flowers (it’s springtime!), love, music, and Jesus – heavy on the Jesus part, without Him you can’t win – take it from a battle-scarred veteran of the aforementioned fight.

They called us, among other things, hippies. Us guys grew our hair long which was our way of rebelling against the established order. The man controlled the money, much the same as they do today, but that fact had little effect on a bunch of idealistic kids who found that we could operate without much of it. In today’s society, we constantly see members of the elite establishment step out of line and say things which, even though true, are just not allowed to be said, only to promptly come groveling before their money masters begging for forgiveness and retracting whatever forbidden thing they said. Thankfully we aren’t seeing the college kids doing that this time either. I guess idealistic young folks are much the same in any age.

God bless y’all kids. Keep up the good fight. Those innocent people’s lives are more important than some fat cat’s fat wallet. Keep this old hippy geezer informed on how you’re doing. I love y’all dearly!

5 U.S. Code § 3331 – Oath of office

prev | next

An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” This section does not affect other oaths required by law.

(Pub. L. 89–554, Sept. 6, 1966, 80 Stat. 424.)

The oath of office for the congress of the United States.  Each member of congress must swear or affirm this statement, hence it will be his/her duty to uphold this document, this concept, this supreme law of the land…

We have bald eagles in this part of the country – not an abundance of them, but enough so that we get a chance to enjoy the thrill of watching that majestic avian soar in the Ozark sky once in a while.  When I see one, I sometimes wonder what if he really could understand the role to which he has been assigned as our national emblem.  Maybe by some Providential determination of fate, he is able to look down upon the magnificent landscapes, the mountains, prairies, the cities, and woodlands and realize the significance he bears on those great wings.  If that were so, I’d wager he is ashamed nowadays, seeing how this once great notion of a republic has failed – or better, is in the process of failing.  The eagle didn’t take an oath, but sometimes it seems like he has served our country with more dedication than many who did.

If he could understand what’s going on, and if birds could cry, tears would fall like rain when he flies over the tent cities of Denver, Portland, the garbage strewn city streets like Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia, and so many other dismal scenes – watching human beings destroy themselves with hypodermic needles and hopelessness.  If he only understood human language, he’d be appalled at the sheer volume of absurdity reaching up into his abode from places like the Rayburn building coming from prostitutes and interlopers who now occupy seats once the province of honorable men.  Wise men who came before them once debated and made decisions there that were intended to serve that sacred oath they swore.  Representation of their constituents was paramount – it’s why they were there.  The eagle has watched in abject disgust and despondence as the caliber of the people in these once-honored offices has diminished to the extent that he is ready and willing to pass off his once lofty assignment to the buzzard – after all, that nasty creature would be a more fitting icon for today’s American politicians, but then it might be unfair to demean the vulture with this undeserved comparison, for – like the eagle – he didn’t swear an oath.

The stately eagle probably frowns over all the images of himself ubiquitously displayed on money, monuments, important documents, but I’d guess the most appalling to him is his caricature on the seal of the executive.  The presidential seal.  I’m sure he would be particularly embarrassed by what passes for executive leadership and has for many more terms now than I care to recall (and I’m old).  The presidency of this country is a sick and demented joke.  Look at the caliber of men we’ve had in office since Eisenhower.  With few exceptions, they’ve all been execrable liars and many even criminals.  Some – in fact many folks believe some are unconvicted war criminals.

Image result for free picture of the presidential seal

Carrion eaters gorge themselves on carcasses until they can barely fly.  When they are startled while feasting on some road-killed delicacy, sometimes they must regurgitate considerable volumes of stomach content so they can quickly reduce their take-off weight and get airborne faster.  I wonder if the eagle does that when he flies over Washington, D.C., of course reducing his body weight wouldn’t be why he’d willingly surrender big volumes of his possum et tu fe.  It would no doubt happen as a result of overhearing some presidential speech or a congressional debate in which the cognitive mediocrity of those speaking and debating is perpetually and unashamedly on display.

Back to that oath they took.  No one held a gun to their head and made them swear it.  They did it of their own free will. Some might believe they swore it, not because they believed in it, but because it was simply a step required for them to occupy a seat of power.  A seat they unabashedly and appallingly grovel before wealthy donors to inherit. Nonetheless, since they voluntarily swore the oath, it follows that they should be expected to perform that which was promised.  But then, following their sworn constitutional obligations often gets them cross-threaded with the desires of those same donors, so guess which path they invariably take? Sometimes you have to wonder if they even had an inkling of the responsibly that oath would require of them as they uttered it.  You certainly can’t tell by their actions in office.

I’m a U. S. Navy veteran.  Served in the pre-com and early operations of the USS Nimitz back in the seventies.  I took a similar oath to the one all of our public “servants” took.  Foreign and domestic.  Is anyone still trying to figure out why they put that word in the oath?  Neither am I.  The fact is, oath notwithstanding, many, if not most, of our leaders – to put it mildly – do not seem to have the best interests of America at heart.  What I believe makes that oath still applicable to me and other vets is the fact that we didn’t sign anything upon our release from duty that absolved or in any way relieved us of our obligation under that oath.  As far as I’m concerned, it’s still in effect for us.  Domestic – for sure!

That old eagle is bound to have figured this business out too.  I wonder if he could resign his post, because unlike politicians, such as some unnamed deputy Secretary of State, it’s through no fault of his own that his job – that of national emblem – might soon be up for grabs, and I don’t blame him.

Although the outlook for our country is dismal, there just might be a way to show our loyalty to our nation and regain the trust of that wonderful animal we have selected to represent it.  There is a movement that is gaining much traction in this country, in fact it is named Our Country Our Choice.  I’m a member, and I believe through this organization, we have an opportunity to get our legs back under us, but it’s going to take some serious dedication and work.  Our leaders have dug us into a deep hole from which we have to dig ourselves out.  We weren’t paying attention and now we’re seeing the results.  It’s way past time to start paying attention.  Get involved – there’s plenty of room on board this train.  More and more God-fearing patriots are joining daily.

The leader of this movement is one Colonel Douglass Macgregor.  He’s a retired Army officer with extensive military and political experience.  He’s a smart leader (Wow! What a novel idea!) and I think he’s just the guy who can lead us to a better future.  I implore every American, and especially my fellow veterans, to look into this – it may well be the last hope we have, and it looks quite promising – especially with a man of the caliber of Colonel Macgregor at the helm.

Catch some of his interviews – he’s often on YouTube at Judging Freedom with Judge Andrew Napolitano and many others. Check out the website – Our Country Our Choice.

Who knows? That old eagle might just get a chance to soar proudly over a nation of free people again.

God bless,

Beyond the Latest End of the World

Image result for pictures of eclipse glasses

Here we are on a rainy Ozark morning.  It’s Tuesday and another civilization’s end has come and gone.  Yesterday we survived the horrendous solar eclipse, the devil comet, a fatal planetary alignment, and a rapture in which no one was raptured.  Shame on all Christians who bought into that, and double shame on all the preachers who garnered You Tube clicks stirring up such claptrap.  Although the National Guard was activated, nothing noteworthy happened in all of those towns named Ninevah along the track. Apologies to Jonah.  As far as I’ve been able to ascertain, there was no Mayan calendar influence this time, nor did all of the world’s computers kill off all humanity as you remember happened in that Y2K event a few years ago.

It’s as though every time something odd happens these days, we’re supposed to expect Armageddon to materialize, and everyone should run to whatever underground facility they might have contrived to wait it out.  My family, ignorant of such necessary precautions, sat out in the yard and watched the Pac-Man sun gobble up the silhouette of the moon through those cheap cardboard glasses, and, oddly enough when the solar disc was blotted out, none of us were able to make out that mysterious planet that hides behind the sun, although it is nonetheless there, teeming with extraterrestrials – each undoubtedly with probe in hand waiting for the next ship to earth to practice whatever fearsome cosmic version of proctology is required nowadays.

Speaking of those eclipse glasses, I’m trying to figure out how to hawk mine on Ebay.  I doubt if I’ll be around to need them for another horror-evoking moon shadow, and they’ve only been used once, albeit for several minutes.  They’re in like-new condition, and If I can keep my kleptocaniac pup from stealing and eating them, they’d be easy enough to ship to a new user.  If someone would buy them now, they could avoid the panicked rush of the next end of the world, in which people would no doubt again find themselves groping about in another maelstrom of horror.  They could thus avoid extraneous pursuits such as trying to find glasses in the last few minutes of the earth’s existence once more.  It’s obviously much more profitable and spiritually rewarding to spend those moments poring through social media video menus for terror-inducing information such as the cicada invasion that was supposed to accompany this most recent termination of humanity.  As our Ozark farm darkened with the ominous and obvious conclusion of our earthy existence, I listened intently for the heart-stopping forest echoes that no doubt had scientists in a blind panic across the country, but as I’m old and kind of hard of hearing, I guess I missed it.

When end of the world events like that eclipse happen, people should always try to get plenty of video and record the sights and sounds, for there’s nothing like sitting around with the family later on in life sharing all the captured marvels of the most recent planetary ending.

Hope y’all had a wonderful end of the world this time – maybe a better one next time!

Now Beckons the Voice of the Shepherd

There’s a creek running across the property that comes from up in the woods.  It starts up on the neighbor’s land high up the ridge and empties into the big creek in the bottom of the holler.  The resident old-timer out here says there was an old sawmill up there, somewhere close to where the neighbor’s property and our land meet, but there’s no sign of it today.  There’s an old, galvanized tub in the creek bottom where I suspect the mill might have been, but I don’t have any idea whether that rusty old tub had anything to do with a sawmill, but who knows?  Anyways, whether it did or not, it’s the only sign of anything man-made out there.

I like to walk up there and enjoy the serenity – it’s one of those places where you can chill out and get your thoughts together – and enjoy the company of Jesus.  He’s always there to hang out with me and listen to my problems and accept my thanks for the place, but mostly He’s just simply there.  And that’s more than a mouthful to try and get across to a person who doesn’t know Him.   It’s hard to explain, this faith I have, but it’s real.  If you haven’t experienced His wonderful presence, don’t let any more of your life pass by without getting to know Him.  You will never regret a moment of it.

One day – and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be soon – we’re going to see Him return in all of His glory.  Most of us have a vision of Him as a lowly carpenter, a preacher with no wealth or standing in society, but trust me when He comes back, the world is in for the biggest shock of all time.  Our Savior will be the most glorious, powerful figure you could ever imagine.  Although everyone on earth will be completely awestruck, unimaginable fear will overwhelm the hearts of all who denied Him.   At the moment we see him, we will realize just how puny all of our weapons – in fact, all of the pursuits and accomplishments of mankind through all of history – really are.  The very skies will be opened in a flash of dazzling brilliance as multitudes of angels fill the whole realm of space, time, and thought.  It will be huge!  Incredible lightning, thunderous voices of fearsome angels will resound and echo across the universe, and a Savior come to claim His own and exact vengeance upon all who chose to be servants of the stranger who has wreaked havoc on His people for all the years.  It will be a fearsome thing to fall into the hands of the living God!

As I stroll through the peaceful, silent woods, I think of the contrast on that day when human beings, those who survive the horrors of tribulation, flaming hailstones, pestilence, disease, war, and all of the other horrors that will have been unleashed upon humanity, will literally cry out – some in fear, but some few in sheer delight and relief.  Amid scenes of destruction and horror that the mind cannot fathom, mighty men will scurry into their holes in the earth in piteous and futile attempts to hide from the face of this God who is filled with wrath and indignation.  The righteous, those who have been faithful to Him, will be able to stand and face Him with unimaginable joy in their hearts. What kind of thoughts will His people experience, seeing those fellows who were the “elite” – those whose riches gave them mastery of armies and nations?  I’m pretty sure we’ll pity them at that time.  But do you know what?  Anticipating the horror they will go through at the judgement of God, we should pity them now.

A human soul is worth more than the value of the whole world to the Lord.   As I watch a gentle southern breeze caress the budding trees, I can feel the tenderness with which He nurtures us.  He really doesn’t want any of us to perish and it goes against His design, even for souls of the rich to be lost.  His tender mercy is revealed to us in so many ways, it’s a shame that Satan has deceived so many and that they disregard the opportunity for becoming saved so that they would have opportunity to spend all of eternity in the presence of absolute joy and love.  Jesus said that (human) eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, nor has entered into the mind of man the joy that awaits those who love the Lord.  Let that one sink in.

I know there are many folks who don’t know what it’s like to enjoy a day out in the woods, watching the thrushes flit about, hearing the beautifully insane call of the pileated woodpecker echo through the holler, maybe catching a glimpse of a shy doe strolling through the glen with her curious fawn in tow.  For those folks, I feel pity, because some of the most wonderful experiences of life are being missed.  God is out here in His creation, and although He’s a lot harder to find in some big city with sirens and horns blaring, He’s there too, nevertheless.  I’ve written posts about such like Where the Poor Go to Weep – Folk Potpourri and Thoughts on Creation on a Beautiful Spring Morning – Folk Potpourri in which I try to share this country experience in spirituality with folks who don’t have opportunity to see it for themselves.  Mostly though, I try to get people to thinking about what lies ahead, after we finish with this stage of existence and enter into the next.

I constantly read people’s opinions on social media chats and such and I pay particular attention to the endless comments of those who claim not to believe in God or the afterlife, they put forth arguments that sound reasonable enough if one insists on ignoring evidence of God’s presence.  I guess it’s easy enough to disregard people like me who keep trying to help them open their eyes, but us guys who are sincerely trying to get them to take a serious look are doing it from our hearts.  The Lord has given us faith – a precious commodity, and indeed, we believers realize just how precious it is, but we can’t go so far as to put our own thoughts – our own faith – into other people’s heads.  Once in a while I have the heart-lifting experience of running across someone who is willing to actually give thought to the possibility of the existence of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and even though they don’t usually immediately become believers, you can tell that God is at work in their heart and if they continue with their honest curiosity, it will only be a matter of time.  “Blessed are the pure at heart, for they shall see God.”  I pray earnestly for these folks.

If only people could hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and understand that He is exactly who He says He is, if all of us could just trust that the Gospel of His life, death, and resurrection is the absolute truth, and that He is the Son of God who came here to the earth to teach us of a better way and to be the ultimate Sacrifice Who would make it possible for us to connect with the Heavenly Father, what a joyous and peaceful life they could enjoy!  There would be no need to succumb to the macabre fear that is darkening the world today.  He promised us that as believers we have nothing to fear – we must focus, and stay focused, on what lies ahead after this life, this world which is no more than a test in which we must decide where we choose to spend eternity.

Ignore the foolish people and so-called evangelists – obscene, wealthy fellows who preach no more than distractions from Christ.  Incredibly, they are some of the principal elements of Satan’s attack on goodness, wholesomeness, righteousness, and many are those who are ensnared by them.  Jesus told us that the gate is wide that leads to destruction.  I get a mental image of a huge herd of sheep all being led through a huge wide gate into what they presume will be a wonderful pasture, but they cannot see in beyond the gate.  In reality, what awaits them is a great, dark abyss for which they are ignorantly, but not innocently, heading.  Then there are a few sheep fighting their way out of the crowd, often enough through some serious obstacles, but they are on their way to a narrow, tiny gate beyond which they, through faith, know an unimaginable paradise lies.  They will not be distracted, they hear and know their Shepherd’s voice, a voice to which the big crowd never listened; those ones don’t know His voice at all, by their own choice, even most of the folks who claim to know Him only listen only the deceiving voices of their false preachers.

In God’s grand scheme, and as we are admonished in the Bible, this life we currently live is a very short moment in time.  In fact, if there was any such thing as a graph depicting eternity, a dot representing all of human existence wouldn’t even be detectable on it.  The time that has passed since Jesus ascended to Heaven is but a brief moment, maybe like you’d think about going to the grocery store and coming home.  The Bible constantly speaks of the fact that we are living in the last days, not as we imagine the last days, but as God sees it.  When we think of “last days”, we think months or weeks, or maybe even a few years, but when the Word mentions the last days, even though there are many references to the end times as we understand them, He is most often talking about the entire period of time after Jesus appeared and left to go to Heaven.  As we watch the dark times that are enveloping the whole world right now, I believe that we are approaching the last days as we humans think of them, in other words, I believe the time is drawing nigh for our encounter with eternity, and that some – maybe even most – of us alive today will see it in our lifetime, possibly very soon.

Imagine the apocalyptic happenings when Heaven and His host is revealed.  Mighty Angels with thunderous voices making great proclamations, intense, never-before witnessed lightnings, earthquakes, the very heavens shaken with the mighty and angry Creator of all things looking down in extreme wrath.  Now imagine that the anger of this awesome Being is directed at you – when you find yourself in the unenviable position of having chosen to be His adversary because you rejected His Son. His beloved Son who had to die an excruciating death in which the very heavens were agonized, on a cross long ago just so you could be saved, but even after He went through all that, you rejected Him.

Even though Jesus was dying, hanging by the cruel nails onto that cross in what had to be excruciating pain, such was His unimaginable love for mankind – even His tormentors – His last thoughts were to pray to the Father for their forgiveness – yes, He loved them (and us) that much!  His unbelievable love is the most potent force in all of creation, God Himself is Love.  When a person becomes a believer in Jesus and makes the decision to follow Him, that person begins the process of immersing himself/herself in that profound universe of God’s infinite love and will forever live in His blessed presence!

We have opportunity while we’re here on earth to experience small glimpses of His love.  We can see it in a dogwood bloom, or hear it on a summer evening whippoorwill song echoing through the holler.  When you see a newborn fawn wobbling up to his mother in a peaceful green meadow, you see God’s handiwork.  This is the world God intended for us to inhabit and enjoy, and though most who read these posts don’t get to see things like this, I’m happy to share the experience as much as my words allow.  I’m happier to share the experience of knowing Jesus though.  Being able to get to know Him is the most important thing in this existence, and I hope and pray the readers will do so.  Get yourself ready so you don’t have to find yourself in fear and dread on that awesome day when He returns.  You’ll be forever glad you did.

Now I have to go out and check on the progress of this year’s dogwood bloom – it looks to be another nice one.

Now is the Time

And here we sit. Or lie, it really doesn’t matter.  Deep down we all know something is terribly wrong, but we’ve become so accustomed to sitting around waiting for things to get better that we find ourselves expecting something that we know isn’t going to happen.  We just wait around for someone else to step up to the plate, then maybe we can try to help.  Problem is, we have somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple of hundred million American men sitting around waiting for some hero to emerge, and indeed if we look closely, that hero is trying to emerge – from within the heart of each of us. Listen to it!

Back in time somewhere, somehow, our genetic profile got infused with some admirable traits.  Men in early America were men – brave men of integrity and honor.  Since those days our desirable aspects have progressively become diluted – seriously depleted indeed – but the kernel of love for freedom is still inside us.  Our problem is how to overcome the blasphemous propaganda deluge in which we are submersed.  We have to wrest our attention from our pathetic worldly pursuits foisted upon us by the media to the urgency of serious threats to our nation’s very existence.  Is our desire for a new pickup truck and boat more important than our expectation for there to be a free country for our kids to inherit?  Is the super bowl and its vile commercial accoutrements worth more of our time than a Sunday morning with our family in service to the God who blessed us with our prosperous (though too often decadent) and certainly undeserved lifestyles?

In case you’ve been asleep for a long while, our government has become occupied by what are increasingly being revealed as hostile forces.  These same forces are the ones responsible for the destruction of our cities and our uncontrolled border – it’s all part of their plan to destroy our God-fearing nation.  Connect the dots and you’ll find other nefarious plots and acts such as health and pharmaceutical efforts which have questionable value.

Our congress has been taken over almost completely by these same people who instruct the members to pass legislation which no longer in any way represents the interests of the country they were elected to represent.  It’s hard to find any legislation processed within the last few years that reflects the interests of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.  I remember some time ago, when the government was at an impasse over the budget and no business at all could be attended by the congress, yet they still managed to eke out some kind of resolution opposing disparaging a foreign country.  Couldn’t do squat for America though. Wealthy corporate PAC donors for sure, but never for Joe the Plumber.  Other nations – well, the ones with money absolutely, but no longer any legislation to help working American people.

We are watching the inevitable disintegration of what was probably the greatest of nations.  The whole world once looked to the US as the preeminent leader of the world.  We were respected as being an honorable nation populated with honorable people.  What happened?  In my humble opinion, some time ago, perhaps around 1913, our leaders revealed themselves to be susceptible to bribery.  Over the years, this shortcoming has only grown worse – like some grotesque malignancy – and has proven to be the primary reason for the downfall of American society.  Our congress and executive are captive to malevolent forces that are beyond our ability to control – individually.  I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m very tired of the video soap opera of one-upmanship that passes for congressional activity nowadays.  Wow!  Just look at how Kennedy gave that Mayorkas the what for!  Or how Rand Paul butchered Fauci.  To what end?  Seriously people!  The people’s legislature is reduced to congressional reality TV and congresspeople relish the roles.

Everyone knows there is strength in numbers.  Alone we cannot hope to arrest America’s plunge into the abyss, but with sufficient numbers, especially with American veterans and patriots on board, we can face, and defeat this scourge.  We have to recognize and admit to ourselves that it exists though, and then muster up the courage to fight it.  We must recognize that the sinister forces who have brought us here intend to destroy our nation, our children’s future, and then we must resolve to defeat it.  Whatever it takes.

Always remember that, regardless of media and government propaganda narratives, there is a distinction between loyalty to the government and patriotism to the country. In fact, that distinction is the very reason the constitution was written and endorsed! Our founders realized that a government could become corrupted and so they set up a legal means to overcome such corruption and tyranny.

How can we begin to fight this battle?  There are some choices before us, some will require us to put aside differences, especially as pertains to race – white and black and brown America must stop allowing evil forces to divide us.  Pay attention – when the mass media start hammering the airwaves with news stories that divide the races, we can be assured that there is a serious need for distraction from whatever nefarious behavior is afoot.  I remember the Vietnam days and how each time the war protests started to become uncontrollable, the news stories became about race issues, and sure enough, gullible Americans were suffering the Watts riots and countless news stories impugning black men which our carefully nurtured racist communities were quick to devour.  Sure enough, our collective attention was miraculously turned to the race bait instead of the war. We have to stop letting them do this – we need to be willing to disregard such obvious division and stay focused together!

Personally, I’m a 70-year-old white hillbilly from a southern white background, and if I followed my forebears, I’d probably be a member of the John Birch group, but fortunately many years ago, with the help of the Almighty, I became able to see through the propaganda – it wasn’t easy and I made lots of enemies along the way.  But after everything is said and done, Martin Luther King is among the greatest of my heroes.  I learned much from figures like Malcolm X and Ghandi.  I think I learned most, especially about honor and bravery, from our founding fathers.  I learned long ago that these guys were willing to put it all on the line for what they believed.  We need guys like that today!  We can have discussions about their views on slavery and other issues in another forum, but right now I implore all Americans of every color to come together to act and do what each of us can do to save our country.  Trust me, the people in control do not want that.  We must come to the realization that there is room here for every one of every color.  Brotherly love must prevail against the forces that teach and espouse hatred.  Remember, we all have issues we’d like to see addressed, such as racism, militarism, etc., but we’ll never be able to properly resolve these issues until the people of this nation regain control of our government.

There is a movement we should support – it’s growing by leaps and bounds – called Our Country Our Choice.  If you agree that this country is headed in the wrong direction, you should look into it, as this promises to offer a solution to many of our ills.  The organization is headed by one Douglas MacGregor, a retired Army Colonel who served as advisor in the Trump administration.  Our Country Our Choice (OCOC), as far as I know, does not endorse, or at least hasn’t yet, any political figure(s), and specifically refuses donations from politically motivated groups or lobbies.  It looks like a viable path to regain our nation’s sovereignty and I strongly urge American men, women, and especially veterans to get up off your ass and get involved – this thing is not going to work without all of our help.  OCOC urges all demographics to get on board with this movement – it is solely for the benefit of the American people – not lobby groups or politicians.

Colonel MacGregor has an extensive military background.  He is adept in governing and is smart enough to get the right people into the positions where they can be most effective.  The organization has already recognized the futility of trying to improve our lot without the help of Providence, and has a chaplain, Pastor Casey, in the leadership of OCOC.  Bingo!  If God is with us, who can stand against us?  I exhort all who see this missive to look into OCOC and join and support the organization, financially and spiritually.

No one is attempting to imply that OCOC will be able to solve all of our problems.  Some of the issues that await attention are profound and will require time and effort to properly address.  What is certain is that we have issues on the table that cannot be resolved within the current structures of our government – in fact they actually seem to be in place to prevent just and fair resolution.  OCOC may not be the exact instrument that will get the US back onto the rails, but it’s a start.  If people are informed and still refuse to act, then maybe they deserve whatever form of slavery the powers that be levy upon them.  But their children don’t.

We have a mandate from the Supreme Law of the Land.   When in the course of human events…

Pass on this info about OCOC to every God-fearing patriot you know. Make sure all the ex-military folks you know hear about it. The compromised people in DC do not represent this old vet!

Reflections on Grandpa’s Little Varmint

There’s a pair of smallish work boots in the spare bedroom and a few other knick-knacks she left when she was last here.  There’s a big smile she left in my heart too.  It’s mine now and it will always be, and it’s one of the few things that hasn’t been claimed by cobwebs.  Literal and figurative cobwebs – but those ginkgo supplements do help. I doubt if she thinks about this old Ozark farm very often these days.

Maybe someday my fond memories of her will fade like everything else seems to as I arrive at a stage of my journey through this existence I used to consider to be life.  Having turned seventy years old last year, I guess I’ve finally come to realize life isn’t what I once thought it is supposed to be – in a way it’s sort of disappointing, but in another way, it’s sort of a relief.  I no longer have to try and live up to a lot of the expectations I always felt I needed to achieve.  In a way, it’s like taking a burden of pride off my shoulders.  Priorities change.  Many unfulfilled dreams have long been packed away – mostly in silent corners of outbuildings, likely never to be reopened, never to be realized, nor indeed remembered, once I take that last hike. Anyways, most of those expectations were those I placed on myself, so I’m free to discard them at will.

On the brighter side, there are some advantages to arriving at geezerhood.  Things that used to be so important to me now seem to carry less significance.  I’m able to “zoom out” and get an albeit belated, fresh perspective.  I’m sure she’ll get there someday too, but for now she’s in that glorious process of spreading those precious little wings – I remember that phase of my own life, and that of my daughters, and at the most significant level – as it should be – I’m able to excuse her for having left me to wipe a tear away once in a while as I reflect on tidbits of her presence with me – like those dusty work boots.  And that priceless smile.

She’s away in college and life is undoubtedly teaching her those lessons us aged creatures have learned through the years, and when she gets to the point in life where I am, she’ll surely understand that the lessons she learned outside the classroom are among the most important of them all.  I hope some of the things she learned out in the woods when those boots were on her feet will be among them.  Of course, she’d never be caught wearing work boots where she is now – we bought them for her when she was up here on the farm visiting.  They kept her feet warm and saved her toes from accidentally dropped firewood as she helped me with chores.  Maybe she’ll make it back up here while I’m still around.  What a lift for this old heart to see her!

I remember when we lived out in Colorado when she was just a pup.  Her family lived with me then, in fact she and her mom had lived with me since she was born.  She was maybe four or five years old.  Around Pueblo where we lived, there isn’t much rain – it’s semi-arid prairie country – but we did get some rain in the spring and it filled up ditches and holes, only to rapidly evaporate when the blazing Southern Colorado sun returned.  The creatures of the prairie take advantage of the sparse rainfall, mostly in reproductive pursuits, and little frogs lay thousands of eggs in every water hole – eggs which would quickly hatch.  We had one such waterhole in a ditch about a quarter of a mile down the dirt road from our place, and one day after a recent rain, she and I happened to walk by it and saw thousands of tiny tadpoles struggling in the muddy but still precious water.  By the time we saw them, the sun was already beating mercilessly on the rapidly drying terrain, and I casually mentioned to her that those little guys wouldn’t make it because the hole would dry up before they got grown.  Later that day and for the next several days I watched as she put a five-gallon bucket on her little wagon and filled it with water from the garden hose and a little biped mammal trudged down the road to pour it in the puddle so the diminutive baby amphibians could survive.  What a heart God put in that little angel!

Her mom got married to a fine young fellow and they eventually got a family started and moved away – tore a big chunk out of my old ticker to have to part with them.  These days she goes to college and plays the clarinet in the college wind orchestra.  She picked it up in high school and got really good at it.  For anyone who might get the impression that I’m bragging on my granddaughter, well ok I am, so I’ll add that in her senior year in the Lufkin high school she made first chair in the all-Texas State band.  I guess that means she was the best high school clarinet player in the whole state.

Here in the Ozarks the dogwoods are about to open out their blooms, I expect in about three weeks.  Their buds are swelling, and the woods are going to come alive with rivers of snow-white flowers flowing brightly along all the roads.  Weather conditions in the spring vary with rainfall, late cold spells, and such, so some years the blooms are more extravagant than others.  Though they are always pretty, a couple of years ago we had a really spectacular bloom.  Up until then, I had never seen such a beautiful sight in the woods.  It’s just impossible to describe – there’s a touching emotional component to such a sight.  It really puts you in a mood to tell God how much you appreciate His grace for giving us things like that on this old earth.  Alyssa wasn’t here to see it, and pictures just don’t do it justice.  Maybe on some spring break down the road she’ll make it here to enjoy a dogwood bloom.  I get this mental image of her wearing her bulky work boots out in the woods, watching in silence and awe as a spring breeze gently caresses those boughs of snowy decadence.  That smile of hers would shine for sure!

I have to close here and get to some spring chores.  Though I love her and miss her, at my age I understand how life works, and with the wonderful company of two of my daughters, a few precious in-and-out grandkids, a great son-in-law, and my beloved dogs I’m not really lonely.  Alyssa has a boyfriend now and lots of things going on in her world.  She’ll (hopefully) finish college and get on with her life as an adult, maybe raise some kids of her own, and who knows?  I might still be around to enjoy them every now and then.

But for now, there’s firewood to split and a garden to till – life in the Ozarks goes on.
