Where to Go When the End is Upon Us

Here we are folks, on the fourth day of this new year and things are about as dismal for the country – indeed for the whole world – as I’ve ever seen in my 72 and 1/2 years here. As of this post California is enduring some of the worst flooding and coastal erosion they’ve ever had. The Pacific Ocean seems to have declared war on the whole west coast. Even as far up as Alaska, there have been record snowstorms that have actually dropped so much snow that sailboats are sinking in harbors from the sheer weight of the accumulations.

Arrival of heavy rain means risk for structures, boats and avalanches ...

The north central parts of the US are experiencing snow squalls and blizzards the like of which have not been seen in our lifetimes. The UP of Michigan, and much of the rest of the state are buried in feet of snow, as are Upstate New York and other areas around the lakes. For some odd reason(s) no one seems to be able to explain, the water level of Lake Erie is dropping drastically.

In other parts of the world, the massive time bomb of Campi Flegrei in Italy keeps cooking inside and raising the land of Pozzuoli as it threatens to explode in what might be a cataclysmic super eruption. If it goes off, no one knows how much of the western flank of Italy will be obliterated, nor what effects it will have on the rest of the world. Volcanoes, many of which were deemed to be dormant have exploded with unexpected eruptions. There have been some 60 eruptions around the world in the past year. Many extremely powerful eruptions such as the Hayli Gubbi in Ethiopia, the big volcanoes in Kamchatka, and Sumeru and others in Indonesia are currently erupting or have recently. I’m no geologist, but if the Tambora eruption of 1815 could create atmospheric conditions that caused an entire year without a summer, is it too farfetched to imagine that dozens of big volcanoes going off simultaneously such as are today might do the same thing? Might that be why we’re seeing such extreme winter weather in the northern US, Europe, and Russia?

Widespread droughts, such as the ones in the southwestern US, Iran, and places in Africa are making water a valuable resource. Rivers around the world, many being lifelines through nations, are drying up at a phenomenal rate. Even the Mississippi has seen periods in recent years where it has become unnavigable for the volume of traffic it has served. Perhaps runoff from the voluminous snows in the high Sierra this winter will help with water shortages next spring in Lakes Mead and Powell, but that’s not a permanent solution for the huge requirements of agriculture out west that keep increasing with populations.

As if weather-related or other natural phenomena weren’t enough to foment worldwide pessimism, we also have war, pollution, and other man-made issues that do not bode well for humanity’s future. If a fraction of money and resources were dedicated to improving our lot as are to destroy each other’s nations and kill people, I have no doubt that mankind could drastically improve our collective world, but as long as wealth can be concentrated into the hands of the few who crave more and more, that’s not going to happen. The recent invasion of Venezuela in preparation for massive oil theft won’t be the last act in this production. Satan has a plan for all of humanity, and it doesn’t look good at all for those who opt to face the last days of our future without the benevolent guidance of Jesus Christ – rich or poor.

We have a great and passionate Savior who desires our fellowship and is willing to give us the support and compassion that will take us safely through these troubled times. He promises to give us rest, to give us a reason to hope, not especially for this time of trial, but beyond it. We too often make the mistake of imagining the end of this life to be a huge dark wall representing the end of all things, but there is hope on the other side and we need to be thinking about the other side of it and not about the piteous remains of this side. It doesn’t take a genius to understand that we are facing problems in this world that are of such monumental proportions that we cannot overcome them – neither the natural ones, nor the manmade. Jesus Christ promises that He has something reserved for us on the other side of the big fearsome wall. There is a gate through it, a narrow gate that we must direct all of our energy towards finding. It can be found, but only if we but listen and heed the words of Jesus, but if we continue to ignore His offer of salvation, there is indeed a dark future ahead.

As the darkness approaches, we have crucial choices ahead of us – we can continue to hope to survive whatever the world throws at us, but whatever existence we might come to, no one in their right mind could imagine it to be a prosperous, enjoyable existence. At best we might all become beggars or slaves, watching our loved ones perish for lack of food or medical help, or become tribal hunter-gatherers with hardly a chance at long-term survival, or we can resolve to follow the only One who offers us real hope of an eternal future. Jesus came to save the world, but only if we give Him the keys and let Him take us where we need to go. That’s the only way to real survival – in a very real paradise of eternal joy where there will be no worrying nor suffering of any kind. Jesus is preparing a mansion there for each of us who choose to answer His calling. [John 14:2-4]: “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

With the condition of the world deteriorating around us like it is, it’s beyond irrational to continue to hope for things to get better here in the world, but if we set our sights on the promises of Jesus, we have every reason to hope for the (long-term) future. Get right with Him today – for a far brighter future than anything we can hope for here.

May the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us as the time draws near.

2026 – Another Stage of Our Journey

This is the first post of Folkpotpouri.com of this, the 2026th year of our Lord. Since we all seem to be surrounded with turmoil and a generally bleak outlook left over from last year, I hope to share a generous portion of the hope with which I awakened today. This new year is the beginning of a new time, and it might just be the one we servants of Jesus have long anticipated, a year in which our hopes in the blessed promises we have been given will reveal themselves to be materializing. Indeed, there are portents of marvelous times ahead, possibly this very year, (who knows?) times that faithful servants can realize God’s grace in ways we haven’t heretofore experienced.

Pray then, for the Lord to shower His blessings upon us this year – moreso in the ominous dark days ahead than in past times wherein we found ourselves wanting, both in our servitude to Him and in withheld prosperity because of our shortcomings. Pray that He will examine our hearts and see that our faith and hopes have waxed sincere and that we might approach His throne with pure hearts – and in the obeisance required of faithful servants to participate in His Kingdom; that the abundant blessings of His majestic Providence might shower our new year like never before as the determined enemy spares no effort to force our capitulation into hopelessness.

As we step out into this new world of 2026, into the frosty, wintry day beginning this phase of our journey, let us realize that this episode is not our destiny, but is merely the next step down the pathway that leads us home. The mansion of splendor Jesus is preparing for us awaits across that river we will cross at the end of this stage, and what a Day that will be! Keep that hope in mind and at heart as you take this next step, and never forget, not even for a moment that the Lord Jesus Christ walks beside you with each and every step of the journey – after all, it is He that prepares our mansion so that wherever He is, we may be with Him there, therefore He is with us, His chosen now, in these days while we are still here.

2026 brings us yet closer to our home for which we long with heartfelt sincerity, let’s take it on with a refreshed hope, indeed, that hope which cannot be taken from us as long as we hold onto the hem of His garment. So by all means, hold onto Him and do not allow this merciless enemy to convince you to let go, not in 2026, not ever! If you do not know Jesus yet, let 2026 be the year you come to Him – He’s just outside the door after all.

May the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us through another – hopefully wonderful – year.

With brotherly love,

How To Prevail in This Time of Darkness Upon Us

The mighty power of God is now being unleashed upon the earth. It’s as though some great Spiritual dam has burst through the cosmos, and the earth is being flooded with God’s Spirit with an awesome power the world has not witnessed since the very crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you are a believer, this great phenomenon has doubtless tugged at your soul lately. Take it in – it’s for real, but I fear that only God’s chosen and elect are able to discern what’s going on. Things are happening now that will affect our future, the enemy is no doubt aware of the power that is growing against him, and he will no doubt double down on the evil he has nurtured precisely to engage with God’s elect in this great spiritual battle for the ages. Expect him to throw everything he has in his arsenal – those who have not committed their lives to Jesus Christ will be the ones destined ultimately to fall. Those who are spiritually sealed to be God’s anointed will face tribulation but will ultimately prevail and do so in the magnificent protection that only the Son of God can impart to us.

We who have practiced our faith in submission to God’s will are not yet perfect – we have made and will continue to make – mistakes up until we put on that incorruptible existence, but do not doubt that we will reach it. We must not allow those errors and/or imperfections to deprive us of our confidence. Satan will use these missteps to attempt to rob us of our motivation, our confidence. Take heart, God knows we are not yet perfect and will forgive our mistakes. Our mission is to keep our eyes on the things above.

The enemy is putting on a fearsome spectacle that is designed to strike fear into the hearts of everyone, but will only do so in the hearts of those who do not know Christ, and from the news of the day, we learn more and more of the burdens he will impose, but do not allow these threats to create anxiety in your hearts – that is his whole purpose, to create doubt, create fear, but it can only work in hearts that are not sealed into the Kingdom. For those of us who belong to Jesus Christ, our Great and Mighty Shepherd, we need not concern ourselves with the wiles of Satan, [Psalm 23:4]: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Open your eyes to the marvelous works of the Lord that are happening. The great megachurches filled with those who shun the responsibilities God gave us such as helping the orphans and widows, the huge ornate buildings where wealth is encouraged and admired, the congregations we all know as bastions of hypocrisy, are becoming deserted. This is not a blow to Christianity, for those who gather in such places were never a benefit to the Christian faith nor were they a threat to Satan. Nevertheless, according to prophecy, this was destined to happen. When the “man of sin” is to be revealed, he will be exposed as all who reject the teachings of Jesus Christ, such as that the rich will have no place in God’s Kingdom. In today’s “churches”, people are constantly taught what is called the “prosperity gospel” (with a lowercase g) that when they put money into the offering, it will be returned to them and with increase, when all it effectively does is to enrich the false prophet pastors. Now the “faithful” are walking away from these ministries in droves. Hopefully some will move on to seek the true Kingdom of God.

Messages from the truly faithful pastors are becoming more poignant and powerful as we approach the end of the age. This builds courage in the true faithful of Christ, courage that can be sensed in the heart. Sermons are delivered that can intuitively be discerned by the believer to be from the Holy Spirit and the discerning hearts that hear them can see and are starting to rejoice that our Savior is near. We have a new hope growing today in our collective Spirit – a hope that unbelievers cannot fathom in this growing darkness of threats by the enemy. An inexplicable and pure hope the enemy can never dislodge, and he becomes ever more furious as his end approaches, walking about like a roaring lion, but to no avail. We shall not be encumbered with fear and dread of what our future holds because our King has promised to meet us at the end of this rutted and utterly worn-out road we call life. Such a passage was never intended to be our permanent abode, nor shall we consider it to be, nor will we long for it anymore when the time comes for it to be over.

Jesus told His followers some things so beautiful, so appealing they cannot but put our hearts to rest from any and all anxiety. [ Matthew 11:28]: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” and [John 14:2,3]: “ In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” Hang on for just a little while longer folks and try as you can to bring others with you.

If you have not yet come to know who Jesus Christ is, I highly recommend that you search Him out while He can still be found. The enemy has plans for some awful events for all humanity, and those who do not know Jesus have no hope at all in the upcoming tempest. We shall all suffer tribulations, but in Jesus we can know we shall endure and emerge victorious over the evil one. Get right with the Lord for the sake your eternal future. The time is short.

Meanwhile, may the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us until the end.

Why Don’t We Think About the Oceans?

Ezekiel 33:6: “But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.” Let the reader understand this warning.

Revelation 16:3:  Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.

Consider the desolation of this imagery. Now consider the possibility that the destruction of the oceans might be man-made. Has everyone in this whole world completely lost their collective minds? If we’ve all been reduced to only being concerned with what the next revelation of the Epstein files or what is about to be revealed in the Erika Kirk/J.D. Vance affair, then we might well deserve the dismal fate that awaits us and indeed, that awaits mankind. Folkpotpourri has addressed this on more than one occasion, but with the scant readership this site gets, word of this is unlikely to get out from here, nevertheless, surprisingly few seem to be aware of these warnings of a looming disaster that is (currently) gathering off the coast of Venezuela and I’m not talking about some impending regime change or oil theft war that might happen and be over in short order. There doesn’t seem to be much concern about it anywhere else either. If this thing gets out of hand, think about the number of Fukushima and Chernobyl size disasters that might result on the floor of the Caribbean ocean. American ships that can be sunk by Chinese missiles with obliterated nuclear reactors strewn across miles and miles of Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico waters (spewing poisons) and thus shorelines to eradicate any possible life-sustaining fishing or other activities for the next several hundred – maybe thousands of – years.

If the world survives some conflict in the Caribbean, but even a few nuclear-powered vessels are sunk by modern Chinese missiles that have been developed by highly capable scientists and engineers (while American R&D folks are only busy trying to siphon money off the taxpayers instead of developing air defenses capable of challenging new Chinese technology), the completely surprised American defense establishment might suddenly find themselves losing assets to systems that can efficiently destroy American ships, how will our leaders undertake to contain the nuclear contamination damage that will inevitably result? Will they even recognize that such a catastrophe has occurred? The propaganda establishment will no doubt go into overdrive trying to minimize any publicity of such devastation, but that won’t bring back fish or whales.

Imagine vast tracts of Venezuelan beaches, lands adjacent to the sea, and fishing waters rendered unusable as poisons leach out of the wreckage of ship reactors (and weapons) decades from now. The actors who so thoughtlessly brought such devastation will no doubt be long gone, but if any hapless survivors would dare to try and make use of the coastlands once abundant with life and life-sustaining resources, they would soon find it suicidal to even go there. In the highly unlikely event that there might possibly be survivors in some future dystopian nightmare world, they would no doubt spend what might be left of their short lives wondering what “leaders” in the 21st century were thinking. Could they not see what might become the result of such an obvious threat? Where were the populations and why did they allow this? Why, they were too enthralled over Donald Trump insanity (on all sides) to worry about such mundane things as the careless destruction of our environment.

courtesy wallpaperacess.com

If the truth was known and wisely promulgated throughout society, naval battles are and have been rendered insanely reckless with the advent of nuclear-powered vessels. Nuclear power might be (somewhat) safely managed on civilian vessels like icebreakers and even container ships, but to send nuclear powered war vessels into battle is absolutely one of the most irresponsible decisions any Admiral or national leader could make. Any war in which several ships with nuclear reactors and weapons are sunk will result in irrecoverable harm to vast areas of the oceans – maybe the entirety of our oceans – and the life therein.

An even greater danger is that when this war goes hot and other superpowers get involved, there will be nuclear-powered vessels sunk in all the oceans of the earth, not just off Venezuela. If some of the ill-advised leaders who currently control the buttons of nuclear destruction get their way, if they continue to push a catastrophic war that goes nuclear, most of the lands of the earth will certainly be rendered toxic for many years, but the oceans and the food chains they provide and support will be contaminated with nuclear poisons, ensuring that the sea will not offer any relief in the way of foodstuffs if there are survivors.

Mankind has had opportunity to abandon our proclivity for wars on more than one occasion – such as at the end of previous world wars – and should have done so long ago. Everyone should read up on the Marine General Smedley Butler who finally concluded that all wars are fought at the behest of the rich man and they doubtlessly are. We’re not all rich men, so why don’t we unrich, who greatly outnumber the rich, join together and say no to their wars and devastation? There are other, infinitely more worthwhile pursuits we could undertake. For instance, we could all be trying to develop desalination technology to try and help sustain the populations of areas currently threatened by water shortages. Places like Iran and the US desert southwest are under extreme water shortage threat, and if a fraction of the financing currently directed to ensuring people can kill each other was instead turned to helping get water to people in need, the world might be able to overcome those water supply problems. There’s plenty of water in our oceans, so why not make the water usable instead of threatening to destroy it with radioactivity? After all, the same greedy corporations who currently build bombs and missiles could turn instead to making their fortunes on water technology. Since they won’t consider making their money helping people, and instead would rather invest in destruction, Satan must truly be in control. What are our leaders thinking?

Image result for free pics of sunken submarines
courtesy freepic.com

There are currently eight damaged nuclear-powered subs possibly already – but inevitably will start someday – releasing radiation on the ocean floor and who knows what the future portends just from these? For the sake of our oceans, we must do whatever we can to prevent any more. Any ideas?

Fukushima still pours nuclear radiation into Japanese waters with no end in sight. The US military has effectively destroyed once thriving islands in the Pacific with A Bomb tests. The careless Ukrainians keep launching missiles at the protective dome over the Chernobyl plant, and keep damaging it, so there doesn’t seem to be much concern for the future of humanity, just an unhinged desire to damage “the enemy”.

courtesy cultea.fr

Please spread this message as far as you can. Make your own posts if need be, but we need to get this concern out there. We all love our oceans and should make it a common concern to try to protect them – and the God-given creatures they sustain.

May the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us in our time of need.

Take Care of Where to Place Your Trust

There’s a lot of information available nowadays if a person wants to learn things. Our innate curiosity leads us into knowledge of events and trends about which we now have the means to explore thanks to the tech age, but we have to be careful what we buy into. You see, a lot of places and you tube channels hawk things on their titles (and/or thumbnails) that are designed to get clicks and do not contain the actual information advertised (or sought). Then there are the ones that have content that is flat out false, and I believe that is a much bigger problem because with AI technology unscrupulous entities are able to produce narratives that require careful scrutiny, otherwise some of us might actually believe them. And why not? We’re not all gifted with the necessary discernment to recognize each truth from each fiction, at least in every case, and with the improvements in conveying what is being passed for reality, that’s getting harder every day.

Having said that, it’s plain we are in constant danger of being misled, often in important ways about important subjects, it’s almost as though we have at our fingertips available narratives to support anything we want to believe. That’s where this Bible verse comes in, [ 2 Timothy 2:3,4]: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” So some people are looking for information they know to be suspect – or outright false – because their sources are saying what they want to hear. As responsible adults, especially as Cristians, we have to make every effort to ensure our information sources are trustworthy – even (and often especially) if they are saying things we don’t like. Are we clicking on a thumbnail because we want to see something that might support some preexisting notion we already have, or are we trying to learn something that might be useful to our Spiritual growth? Do we search the menus for things that might serve to satisfy some carnal craving, some want for gossip, or any other of myriad desires that might impede our Spiritual growth rather than enhance it? It almost requires the wisdom of Solomon to discern the intentions of whichever content we choose before we decide whether or not to watch, read, or listen to it.

There are those who simply advise folks to avoid the internet altogether, and if one doesn’t possess the Spiritual agency to recognize truth from fiction, they may be correct in that advice, but I believe it’s possible to explore the web and find genuine content (like Folkpotpourri) that offers helpful and truthful information for practicing Christians. There are many which produce helpful information for everybody and are not necessarily anti-Christian even if they do provide secular information, such as recipes and how-to hacks for do-it-yourselfers. Then there are the documentary type programs, and it’s among these that we have to be careful, because some of the creators are Satanic and can surreptitiously offer content that may seem on the Spiritual up and up, but to the discerning reader, they can be poison. The only way one may tell what they are reading or watching is toxic is by comparing what they say whenever possible, to the Bible, for it is always the Truth.

If a program, website, or video can be 100% backed up with Scripture, it will be beneficial [2 Timothy 3:16]: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…” to read (or watch) and heed. One must also be careful to watch out for those servants of malfeasance who manipulate words of Scripture to try and make them appear to say things not intended by the author. This is probably the most irresponsible method of interpretation of the whole Bible, and some folks do it all the time – watch some of the wealthy hucksters that try to pass for ministers, and they do it almost invariably to increase their wealth.

With the advent of artificial intelligence, AI technology and computer graphic imaging (CGI), artificial content can be produced today that in almost every aspect can pass for the real thing, so now we have to be on our toes with what we believe to be true. For example in one case, I watched a video story – obviously AI generated, but nevertheless believable – about a Saudi Arabian airline pilot who was supposedly of the Islamic faith who found his airplane about to crash and kill him and his passengers, so he prayed to Jesus and his plane miraculously was saved and he got into all kinds of trouble with religious authorities when he got home – even ended up in prison. It was a story that any believing Christian would be overjoyed to hear – aside from the prison part – and I even wrote a post on it, but before publishing it I decided to research it a little more thoroughly and to be honest, I only found a couple of other You Tube videos narrating essentially the same story but the pilot had a different name, and no information whatsoever anywhere outside of You Tube. I’m not saying the story is necessarily false, there may be elements of veracity in it and of course, even if it was true the Saudi Arabian government wouldn’t publish any information on such a story, so sources would be expectedly limited, but nevertheless I decided not to publish it. Too much room for it being just a feel-good story for Christian believers but totally false, and on that likelihood, Folkpotpourri did not publish. I have some made-up stories elsewhere on my site, but hopefully they are so obviously made-up that readers know it. If anyone researches the above story and finds anything to verify it, please let me know in comments, I still have the post in draft status and it’s such a great story I’d love to find out it’s true and publish that post on it.

At the end of the day, this writer believes that AI has the potential to be tremendously useful if used for good and decent purposes, but there’s so much room for deceit and disinformation that it can, and probably will be hijacked by nefarious entities for nefarious purposes, and therefore as do all new things with potential, it will become a net misfortune for humanity, possibly even to the point of becoming a fearsome enemy of humanity. In fact, we shouldn’t trust it at all and should warn our fellow travelers not to trust it either. As of this writing, there are some giveaways that reveal most AI productions, some of the repetitious phrasing, video glitches and resolution, repeatedly stumbling over numbers in the script, and so forth, but don’t depend on those to last. AI will continue to be refined until we won’t be able to tell the difference.

I suppose if there is an upside to learning about how we can (and are being) be deceived, all this new information available by all of the various creators of differing political and/or social persuasions has the benefit of providing methodology for us as to how profoundly we have been deceived by our mainstream media over the last decades. At least those who care to know, but unfortunately such information is so unsettling to some folks’ world views, that many choose to ignore it and so will continue to be deceived. But now it’s by their own choice – reality is out there, folks just need to be curious enough to find it. And God once winked at ignorance, but no longer [Acts 17:30]: “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent…” The apostle in this case was speaking of those who followed after false gods, but the passage can be more broadly interpreted to apply to people believing in things which are not true because they are deceiving themselves intentionally. Fortunately, those who unquestioningly accept everything offered by mainstream news are a dwindling few anymore.

If it ain’t in the Bible, it’s suspect. If it can’t be backed up by Scripture, take it with a grain of salt. If it’s something that doesn’t apply to Scripture, it’s your choice, but be ever discerning.

May the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us.

May Peace and Joy to the World Be Upon Us

Manger Wallpapers - Wallpaper Cave

Today is Sunday and we celebrate Christmas in a few days. That is, those of us who believe mankind has the authority to establish holidays that recognize the biggest events in what some of us believers consider to be our history. There are a lot of differing opinions about Christmas, and I completely agree that some humans have twisted the meaning of it to where it’s hardly recognizable as Jesus Christ’s birthday and has instead become another opportunity for the wealthy to exploit folks and increase their wealth. A lot of regular folks seem to have lost what should be the intent too, and get caught up in the lights and decorations, the beautifully wrapped presents, and the air of celebration itself, rather than staying focused on exactly what should be celebrated. Whether or not the date is correct is beside the point.

Many claim there’s evidence that the celebration of Christmas may have some of it’s origins in pagan festivities, and it’s true enough that elves, Santa Claus and decorated trees don’t have much to do with the events surrounding the birth of the Savior of the world, but people have become accustomed to seeing these things at this time of the year, and I really don’t believe most of us are thinking of pagan things. If believers would use this opportunity as a teaching moment – due to Christmas festivities, the subject of Jesus Christ has been broached in a very obvious way – to try and get the message of salvation out to those who do not know Jesus, it might prove to be an excellent time to witness to them. There are many believers who are dead against celebrating Christmas due to what they believe to be pagan beginnings, and I’m not arguing that they’re wrong, it’s just that in the short time we have left to help with the Lord’s harvest in which we are mandated to do, it looks like too much energy is being expended on trying to speak to people against celebrating Christmas. Especially people who aren’t well-versed in Christ’s message.

The nonbeliever doesn’t know enough about religious contention like this to understand such arguments, and even in their ignorance of the meaning they still want to enjoy Christmas festivities, so one of the best ways I know of to turn them off to the idea of serving the Lord is to condemn them for wanting to enjoy the holidays. After all, if someone knows absolutely nothing about Jesus Christ to begin with, and if believers try to start witnessing to them by claiming their participation in Christmas festivities is sinful, it would make it much harder to win them over to Christ.

There’s a good argument to be made that everyone should be apprised that there certainly are behaviors that are unacceptable to those of us who want to please the Lord, but I’m rather skeptical of the notion that recognizing a day that men have set aside to remember the birth of Jesus is necessarily one of them. That is, if we are genuinely out to please Him. We should be willing to shoulder the responsibility to our testimony and use the opportunity this holiday provides to teach folks about who Jesus is and what He means to us – and the whole world.

When Jesus came to this earth, He brought a covenant that men had a tough time learning to accept. Things changed drastically from the way they had been before He was here, and if the truth was known, men are still struggling to deal with those changes. We received authority in the very beginning to manage things on the earth. We were given stewardship, God allowed men to name animals and tame some of them. Mankind was tasked with the responsibility of managing the earth. [Genesis 1:26]:“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

A time came when God saw that men weren’t managing the earth and they kept falling short of living the way He wanted them to, so He sent them His law, through Moses, for guidelines to live lives pleasing to Him, but nobody could even comply with that law and sin continued to abound until God decided to send His Son to the world to take the sin away. At least the sins of those who believe. That’s why we celebrate Christmas; we don’t observe pagan rituals – at least those of us who strive to understand the incredible plan and what it is about. God set up a new covenant through the ministry of Jesus Christ and sent His Holy Spirit to actually dwell in the hearts of men who believed in Jesus. I choose to believe that the Holy Spirit in men of long ago gave them the heart to do many things they had not previously been able to do, such as establish their own days in which they were able to show the world in Whom they placed their trust, and I believe that Spirit also gave men the authority to do so. I also think the problems that arise between people who celebrate Christmas and those who don’t believe in it arise as a result of believing – or doubting – that men have that authority. The New Covenant (of the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts) that Jesus established gave us a lot of leeway as far as how we run things (such as establishing nations, governments, and holidays), but He tightened the requirements on our motives and behavior. Some of us get that concept backwards. As long as we are not submitting to pagan gods or beliefs, we are free to set up our own observances without displeasing the Lord. There’s no argument against it. [Colossians 2:16]:“So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths…”

As with every other Godly endeavor of decent men, there was an attempt, actually a largely successful one, by Satan to interfere with it, and now instead of widespread recognition of Jesus, we have a highly commercialized holiday, amenable to making wealthy men (who largely do not know Christ) richer and if there is a perversion of Christmas, that would be it in my opinion. The root of all evil, money, has corrupted the hearts of men so they try and render our holiday into just another cash cow. But we don’t have to acquiesce to sharing their greed, and we can still observe what we like to think of as Jesus’ birthday by praying, exchanging gifts (as examples of brotherly love started by the wise men), and yes, using the Christmas opportunity to witness to folks who enjoy Christmas but might not know much about what it really is.

Even if today’s Christmas celebration had its beginnings in days of some pagan rituals, I like to think faith in Jesus has won all times of observances over to Him and the pagan trappings are no longer in effect. There may be some leftover groups or tribes who still use it as a pagan holiday, but I don’t see any of them around – most of the folks I know celebrate Christmas as the day we recognize the birth of Christ and the pagan part of it is long gone. In fact, recognition and celebration of anything to do with Jesus Christ is in direct opposition to anything pagan. Jesus has been victorious over the hearts of men who have come to see Christmas as a day to celebrate Him. As far as the commercialization and Santa Claus, etc., we don’t have to get involved in all that, but I really think Christians have bigger fish to fry than spending all their time and energy fretting about people recognizing Christmas. We have more important work to do. The harvest is abundant. [Matthew 9:37,38]:“Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. As I said before, we can use Christmas as an opportunity to witness for Christ.

There are growing movements these days of organizations and groups who do not believe in Jesus, some even hate Him and His name. They try incessantly to remove Christ from our lives, there’s nothing they would like better than to see Jesus’ ministry erased from the world and by removing Christmas (properly observed as the day set aside to recognize Jesus Christ’s birth) there would be less opportunity for unbelievers to encounter His name. His name needs to be out there in the world at large as much as possible and if nothing else, Christmas helps to serve this need.

I believe the bottom line is that if you think it’s a sin to celebrate Christmas, then by all means don’t do it, but please allow those who believe they are free to recognize it as the day of Christ’s birth to do so however they see fit within moral bounds. If they are wrong but are sincerely trying to please Him, God will convict each heart.

The Fiery Voice of the Mountains Calls to Us

300+ Free Volcanoes & Nature Photos - Pixabay

Folks there’s something afoot. Or if you’re willing to suffer a bad pun – underfoot. I’ve been watching some geology news sites, but you don’t have to get every expert’s opinion to get a rudimentary understanding of the incredible contortions the earth is undergoing right now. Since January there have been something like 65 volcanic eruptions from 58 different volcanoes – imagine that! Just in one year, and some of them have been extraordinarily violent. A couple of weeks ago that one in Ethiopia, Hayli Gubbi, erupted; a volcano that had been previously classified as extinct! In scientific geological classifications that means for all intents and purposes – dead. That thing cut loose with a tremendous eruption for the first time in recorded human history after sleeping some 12,000 years – totally unexpectedly.

I’ve mentioned in other posts about the super volcano Campi Flegri showing signs of stirring to life. That one is supposedly capable of serious earth-threatening eruptions and there are about three million people in and around the danger zone. That’s only the people in the immediate area of threat, but if it launches a super eruption, who knows what kind of threat it poses to all of the planet? Campi Flegri sits within a few kilometers of Mount Vesuvius, the big one that wiped out Pompeii and Herculaneum back in 79 A.D. Scientists are now speculating – with good evidence – that both Vesuvius and Campi Flegri are connected in their underground magma plumbing, and there’s evidence that Flegri and Vesuvius have erupted simultaneously in the past, and they think both share a capacious magma chamber so if either of them goes off, there might be a twofer. That would undoubtedly take out the whole area, including the approximately three million people living in and around Naples!

Volcanoes are classified according to their potential for explosive eruptions, presumably based on prior eruptive activity. The scale used is expressed in the volume of material they eject, and they use many inputs to arrive at this. It’s called the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI)and there are charts to show just how potent their past eruptions have been. The eruption power is calculated using the presumed volume of ejecta and that comes from studying the land strata around the volcano, sometimes the material, or tephra, is even found in other countries even around the world if the eruption was powerful enough. The tuft from given volcanoes has some kind of signature elemental composition so it can be identified as to where it came from.

Volcanoes - frequency and distribution

Using the above chart, you can see that Mt. Saint Helen’s 1980 eruption was classified as a VEI 5, so even though it was colossal to see on video, it’s sort of minor compared to a super volcano like Yellowstone – or Campi Flegri. Campi Flegri is really the one that scientists are concerned about as of now due to the activity – earthquakes, steam vents, and gas content being released from the (growing) number of fumaroles indicate that an eruption may be in the offing sometime soon. The lives of potentially millions of people could be at risk if it goes off in a super eruption. There is the possibility that it might erupt in some less explosive event, say a minor eruption, or even a VEI 1 (notice on the chart VEI 1 is described as “gentle”???), but any eruption at all would threaten hundreds of thousands of people, especially if there was no “warning”.

As far as a warning goes, I can’t think of anything else the Flegrean Fields could possible do, short of announcing it’s intention over a loudspeaker of the precise moment of eruption. Everything a restless volcano can do to indicate an impending eruptive event has been done. Precursory activity including melting roads, buildings so hot they burn your hand, constant earthquake tremors cracking walls and ceilings – all have been going on for a while now. Authorities have understandably been reluctant to sound the evacuation alarm – especially when they have done so in past years when the ground uplift became extreme but nothing happened. Residents left and went to other places only to see that after a while the subsidence reversed and nothing happened. This is the danger of the “boy who cried wolf” attitude of the folks who live there and most of them are willing to gamble that it will once again be a false alarm. But what if it ain’t?

If there is a super eruption at Campi Flegri that kills hundreds of thousands of people, the history books (assuming that the cataclysm doesn’t wipe out humanity – ash clouds creating volcanic winter, etc.) will no doubt be replete with accusations that no one gave the people any warning, or that folks just didn’t understand the magnitude of the threat. Considering the status of events in and around Pozzuoli and the Bay of Naples with the extreme and rapid rate of land rise – there’s actually some areas of boiling water in the bay – and repeated earthquakes, folks, especially folks with kids, need to consider the possibility of existence in some other place. Vesuvius has already taught lessons in Pompeii and Herculaneum of what it can do, but if Flegrei bangs out a super eruption, it’s going to make Vesuvius’ 79 AD event look “gentle”.

There are other considerations regarding all of the volcanoes erupting in the world recently. Maybe the Almighty God has finally decided to deal with a human race that has completely turned away from Him. We are told in the Bible that this age of mankind will end in fire. [2Peter 3:7]:“But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and [b]perdition of ungodly men.” and again in verse 10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. and verse 12: looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Peter obviously had been foretold of the coming end of humanity and the very world we live on for he quite plainly said that the world would end in fire. With the simultaneous eruptive activity of all the volcanoes, that might just be the plan. It’s still hard to imagine the heavens being dissolved, but he’s talking about the physical heaven, the sky, rather than the Spiritual Heaven which will never be ended.

When you get time, research the Siberian Traps, a time in geologic history during the Permian/Triassic boundary when the whole world was almost emptied of all life due to monstrous volcano activity in Siberia. The event lasted for two million years! Volcanoes can end the world in a cataclysmic holocaust, and it may just be getting started. This might indeed be the way God chooses to disrupt evil and put an end to a world which has chosen to try to exist without Him.

This old hillbilly has made his choice. [Joshua 24:15]:And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

No matter how ominous the threat(s) we face in this life – wars, earthquakes, floods, or even these horrible volcanoes – such dire events need be of little consequence to those of us who follow Jesus Christ, for He alone is able to preserve us. We might come to a nasty end on this side, but when we walk through that glorious door, He will be standing there smiling to welcome us to our real home, the one He prepared for us before human time began. He will tell His own [Matthew 25:34: “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ” And for those of us who believe, we have nothing at all to fear, He already conquered death, so even though in this upside down life we’re conditioned to believe we should fear it, it is not a threat to us.

There are a lot of terrible things happening in the world around us – the prophets told us it would be this way; Jesus and the apostles said these days would come upon us. Do not be alarmed nor afraid. When Jesus Christ has your back, you’re going to be ok, just keep the faith; spread the Word – He is coming back (I believe very soon), so be ready. Bring as many with you as will come, right now that’s our main focus: [Matthew 9:37,38]: “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” He’s sending us right now. We gotta be those laborers! Forget worldly pursuits and everything else – time is short! The mountains are starting to bubble up. Let’s find as many of His sheep as we can round up. Share this post anywhere you think it might do some good.

May the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us.

A Forgotten December Day When Another Angel Was Here

Three days from today will be December the fourteenth; it will pass unnoticed by most everyone, but in my humble opinion, we should remember – no, we should solemnly celebrate – this day as one during which a for real angel visited our world on the blood-soaked battlefield of Fredericksburg, Virginia during what could only be described as a vicious firefight between elements of the southern Army of Northern Virginia led by Brigadier General Joseph Kershaw and Union soldiers of General Sykes’ Fifth Corps. General Kershaw later gave a written account which supported accounts by soldiers of both armies of the observed exceptional bravery and human compassion by one of the Rebel soldiers.

The Union soldiers had unsuccessfully tried multiple times to overrun Confederate positions, and the results of the charges were horrific – leaving the field in front of a place called Marye’s Heights strewn with some 8,000 dead and dying soldiers in blue. As both sides settled into their respective lines, the Rebs were taking refuge behind a low stone wall which had served to protect them from the Union attempts to advance. Any visible movement at all incurred fusillades of Union fire, but the cries for water from the dying Union soldiers from the day before became heart-rending and eventually unbearable for one of the South Carolina defenders of that low wall. His name was Richard Rowland Kirkland, a nineteen-year-old from Flat Rock, South Carolina. He had seen action during the first Bull Run, Savage’s Station, Maryland Heights, and Antietam, and had seen several fellow soldiers killed including close friends from his home county, but he obviously did not lose his humanity.

Kirkland became so disconcerted from listening to the piteous cries of one of the wounded Union Soldiers that he left his position and went to the brigade headquarters to seek permission from the commanding General Kershaw to take water to the enemy soldier. At first the general balked, informing Kirkland that it would be suicide to try to do what he was asking, but eventually relented, with the condition that Kirkland could not wave a white flag nor show any intent of surrender.

Apparently that was all Kirkland needed, for he went back to the line and prepared to go to the wounded young man. Some accounts have it that Kirkland told his fellow soldiers what he intended to do and gathered their canteens as well as his own and climbed over the low stone wall, not knowing if the Union guys would shoot him, nor if any move he made would be his last, but nevertheless he bravely went to the agonized Union soldier and raised the young man’s head and cradled it so he could take some water.

As mentioned, there are varying narratives of how things went, some claiming all firing ceased as soon as the Union guys saw what Kirkland was up to. Other accounts say he was under constant fire with bullets kicking up dirt all around him, but personally I like to believe the former and that there was plenty of human decency shown by both sides. If that account is correct, there were other heroes in attendance that day on both sides. Some claimed he went around and attended several more wounded soldiers giving several of them much needed water and showed as much compassion as a fellow could in the circumstances. There are accounts that claim he was even able to bring blankets to the enemy wounded.

December 14, 1862 Richard Kirkland showed the incredible bravery and human compassion that led to him becoming known ever after as the Angel of Mary’s Heights, a title he earned for his acts of consummate bravery, risking his life against incredible odds to provide succor to the disabled, dying enemies of his own regiment. He is immortalized with a memorial on that very battlefield commending his actions. He was later (1977) posthumously awarded the Confederate Medal of Honor for his deeds at Fredericksburg.

Kirkland went on to see further action in the Civil War, including at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg (where he was promoted to lieutenant) before finally being shot and killed at the battle of Chickamauga. He was, in my opinion, an American hero in the truest meaning of the word. If there were more people with the compassionate heart of Richard Rowling Kirkland in the world, just imagine what it might be like.

As mentioned earlier, there are varying narratives of Kirkland’s story and I guess that would be expected. Some stories are probably embellished more as time went/goes on, but in researching the Kirkland story I noticed a curious aspect of it. There seem to be some “historians” who have set out to “debunk” the story as some kind of myth. Maybe it is, but what kind of person would try and disprove a story of heroism of this nature? I guess it takes all kind to make a world, but as far as I’m concerned, events happened as I have chronicled them and whatever underlying motivation(s) a person might have for substantively challenging the story should definitely be considered before believing them.

Remember December the 14th in honor of Richard Rowland Kirkland at Fredericksburg.

Priorities – A Concept We Have to Get Right

When you set out for an endeavor, any endeavor, if you are to approach it with some degree of wisdom and determination, there are some essentials you must consider – even before embarking on such a quest. These considerations need to be outlined in some form or fashion, and they must also be amenable to evolution or revision as new information surfaces. This is by no means to say that the desired goal itself can be altered to comply with something like for instance, temporary political whims, no, the evolution mentioned here might rightly and acceptably be applied to your methodology to attain that goal, but not the goal itself. The desired goal must become the sole reason for the project in the first place, and when that goal is in laser focus, the allowable methods to achieve it can be more easily seen as such, and only then can their adaptation or alteration be evaluated.

I will use a simple analogy to make the point. I have to make a trip from my home here in the Ozarks to some distant city, say Seattle. I cannot compromise on this – I must get to Seattle and there’s no way to get the desired end of this endeavor without my taking the trip. Getting to Seattle is the end result and thus is now my goal. Now I need to set about outlining my intended trip. Do I want to fly? How much does airfare cost and is that cost acceptable when considered against the time a road trip will take? I might decide to drive, but if I do, which of my vehicles should I take? Do I take the one that gets the best gas mileage? Is the one cheapest on gas going to have ample room for the things I would like to bring? If not, can I reduce the amount of luggage and still accomplish the trip? Might I have to accept taking more time by driving, and with less luggage than I would have liked to take? And so forth.

None of the above considerations are etched in stone except the end goal – that I must get to Seattle. All of the methods I have available to get there are negotiable – some less stringent, some more, but the methods are nevertheless negotiable and in the end, I might have to accept less than the ideal way to get there, but if I’m willing to compromise in some areas, I will be able to achieve my goal of getting to Seattle. Here’s a point we don’t get while considering a project, and many ideas fail because of precisely this: If I’m unwilling to compromise, even a little on the methodology I would like to use to get there, for instance, if I insist on flying and am unwilling to consider any other method, then the fact that I cannot afford the airfare stops my project dead in its tracks, therefore as with any undertaking, compromise is always necessary if wisely undertaken.

If there is a goal that will requires compromises, then there have to be some rules that regard which compromises are acceptable and which ones are not, and our unwillingness to compromise is the biggest obstacle to getting where we want to go. Is there a rule that requires certain values to be applied when considering compromises to be used? If so, what should the rule(s) be?

Vince Lombardi, arguably the greatest football coach ever to have led a team, once said, “Think of only three things: your God, your family and the Green Bay Packers-in that order.”, and that’s as good of a starting point on a post about compromising as anything this old codger (me) could ever come up with. When your project, your ambition, is important enough to undertake, it is always apt to allow your Spiritual beliefs guide your choices of methodology. Jesus Christ addressed this very concept when He told the parable about assessing the cost of what you set out to do before you undertake to do it. [Luke 14:28]:“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—“. The amount of compromise necessary is thus counted among the costs of the endeavor.

An important point here is whether or not the cost of the project – not only of finances and resources – might be having to abandon one’s righteous principles in order to get it done, and if it is, the project itself is not acceptable, and one should abandon it with no further consideration. If the project can be accomplished without one resorting to compromising one’s Spiritual guidance, then it might be feasible. Remember this refers to the goal itself, not the methodology one might use to accomplish it, but then it also applies to the methodology. If the goal itself is amenable to a person’s Spiritual consciousness, then go for it, but do not allow the methods you choose to get there to cause you to do anything underhanded either. So if in the arguments of how to accomplish one’s desired goal do not go against that which is morally acceptable, they may be considered.

In the Lombardi quote, the family is second in the order of priorities. Although no one in their right mind would do anything to harm their family, sometimes choosing to do the right thing can put us at odds with our families, but depending on where that choice leads, we might indeed find that we have to go against family members, another situation Jesus where warns that by doing the right thing we might indeed cross each other, even within our own families, but then we might not have this situation – and this post isn’t about that – when considering our methods.

Now to the issue. Say a great movement comes along and it seems to offer solutions to the problems our country faces. At first glance, we like what we see and decide to become a part of it. Although the focus of the movement is a bit fuzzy at first, we nevertheless see this movement as an opportunity to ultimately get the country back under the control of the people and the Constitution. That would seem to be a worthy goal but if we think it’s going to be easy, we’re way wrong! We have to reconcile ourselves to accomplishing this goal, making whatever compromises and alliances it takes to achieve it – those which are morally acceptable. We must be big enough to accept as allies some whose political views we don’t agree with – we can try and sort out our political positions after we get where we want to go because to get there we have to work together.

The way God works in the hearts of men, along the way to our goal, if we compromise and work together, we will more than likely find that our differing political views aren’t as imposing and threatening as we have been led to believe by media propaganda. If we but step back and see the big picture, it’s totally easy to see how we’ve been misled with these left/right, red/blue political issues which George Washington himself warned us about – but we went down that road anyway – forming political parties against his advice. Today if we don’t wake up to these media sources drumming racial, political, social and other divisions into our heads, they will continue to own us, and we’ll never break free. This country is full – brimming over – with potential allies whom we have been taught to hate – or at least to avoid. Let’s break free of that mindset today – it’s all part of changing the methods we are willing to consider, to compromise where necessary to try and get where we need to be.

Image result for free pics of different races together

It has been heartening to me to see people of different races, political leanings, and social beliefs dropping, or at least minimizing their differences and coming together lately as we watch those who have been in control of our society arriving at their breaking point – they are losing control of the narrative and at the stage of no return. They can’t turn big segments of society against each other like they did with blacks and whites when they wanted to get the country’s attention off Viet Nam. It was as easy as flipping on a switch but doesn’t seem to work very well now – but don’t let up, they’re still trying, and even trying harder as they see the threat to their dominance. We must resolve to hang together and compromise where necessary to get where we want to be. Compromise. Take the little gas miser car to Seattle, it’ll be a tight squeeze, but you know what? I’m bringing the dogs too! I’m gonna take my own advice and learn to compromise!

May the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us.

A Witches’ Brew of Deadly Pollution

I watch this preacher, Tyler Wood, on You Tube videos and I think he is one of the most Spiritually gifted fellows out there trying to spread God’s Word in these troubled times. One of the themes he hammers on is the scriptural warnings from God to those people, mostly prophets, but it’s not hard to see how this can apply to anyone who God has shown things that need to be spread abroad. The Lord even said He would require a uniformed man’s blood at the watchman’s hand because he (the watchman) failed to warn the one who falls. [Ezekiel 33:6]: “But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.” By taking this warning to describe us people of faith as watchmen who need to warn others of impending destruction, I’m understanding that to mean that if the Lord shows a man of faith something of which folks should be warned if it is coming – something for which they could prepare themselves (with Him), then that warning should be passed on by the person who discerns the coming danger.

It is in this vein that I feel there is a need to warn people, even people who’d rather not think about it, that humanity has a serious problem that if we are to survive on the earth, we have to get our leaders to address. Before I go further, let it be known that I’m aware I’m often considered to be a nutcase, so I’m sort of used to that, but sometimes there are things which are staring us in the face, things which most people want to ignore and just whistle past the graveyard, so to speak – and that require even us nutcases to speak up. The issue of which I speak is that of nuclear contamination of the world. I have spoken of this in passing in this posts that warn of impending nuclear war, and here too.

Though the nuclear contamination of the oceans was mentioned earlier as a side effect of a coming nuclear war, this post is dedicated specifically to such radioactive pollution. Today I watched a You Tube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuX7cTUCAUA that should wake people up. There are literally dozens of discarded Soviet submarines that have either been dumped in the ocean on purpose, wrecked and some are sunk with nuclear weapons on board, or other subs that sit idle, discarded and abandoned in harbors like Vladivostok – with nuclear fuel and/or reactors in various stages of decomposition and thus in danger of releasing unbelievable levels of radioactive contaminants either now or in the future. I speak of the future of our planet we are consciously leaving to our kids and grandkids.

The world's largest nuclear submarine cemetery is in Vladivostok, not ...

The world’s largest nuclear submarine cemetery is in Vladivostok.

The world's largest nuclear submarine cemetery is in Vladivostok, not ...

The fish and whales of the seas with which we share the oceans didn’t ask to be obliterated because of Satanic behavior of human beings. Our descendants didn’t either – what are our scientists and military leaders thinking? Oh sure, they all come and go like actors with miniscule roles in some great production. Some nuclear scientist, admiral or general trying to make a name for himself for his brief moment of human time goes all in to exacerbate this nuclear suicide for humanity confident that when the time comes to pay the fiddler, he/she will be long gone, never considering what a despicable failure of a human being that future generations (if there are such) will discover them to be; never even considering the ramifications of what might happen when dozens – maybe hundreds – of ships and submarines lie in pieces on the bottom of the ocean with ripped-open reactors spewing uranium 235 and plutonium 239 – extremely lethal substances.

Sunken Nuclear Submarines
One of several nuke subs already on the ocean floor – some of them have been tested and are spewing lethal radiation.

Most wars of men are exercised because of resources or economical and financial matters – there’s really no argument about that, but are the riches of the world finding their way into the pockets of those who ultimately control governments and militaries really worth the risk to the very world we live in? Where’s the survival instinct of humanity? There’s no way our species, or very many others can survive this disaster into which we are rushing headlong, not giving the least thought to the impending destruction we face. I personally believe that God will intervene at some point and at least save His called, chosen, and faithful, but will the instigators of this insidious destruction and calamity be left to endure the tribulation left to most who survive the war? At some point, the wrath of God will come down on the people responsible: [Revelation 11:18]: “The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” God obviously won’t take kindly to those who destroy His creation!

When a nuclear war happens, the few survivors will have their hands full trying to find food and clean water, but all will ultimately discover that due to the radioactive contamination of the oceans, survival efforts will be futile, and their survival will be temporary. The way things are progressing and with the long lives of radioactive isotopes, it might not take a war – we’re already well on our way.

May the blessings of the Almighty Father find and keep us.
